From growing up as an only child in a broken home and writing short stories at the early age of 6 years old, to dealing and using drugs in his early teenage year , Sweetapple Wes found music as an escape from the dark world he grew up in. Music has always been more than just a pastime or hobby, it was therapy. It was a way to channel his overwhelming emotions and passion into something beautiful and creative. Sweetapple Wes has always been more in tune with people and his surroundings than most others. He finds it easy to tell stories from different perspectives through raps and rhymes over soulful hip-hop beats. He feels he has a voice more capable of reaching his own generation because he’s lived his life in many different ways. SweetApple Wes has the ability to express all ways of life through his music: both the highs and the lows, the light and the dark. He feels this balance is an important key to not only channel his own growing pains, but to help others realize the cold truth life can be. And quite possibly, how to get through and carry the boulders life throws at you.
