Leighton Sheldon of Just Collect and Vintage Breaks has a little fun with some breaks, lots of live giveaways, and some on screen tasting notes of Swedish Fish Mini Candy, Crush Soda Fruit Mix (and the gum from a 1954 pack of cards)! We also remember Gale Sayers and explain "The Second Guy Theory" and why it has made America great.
Leighton talks with Michael Rasile of the For the Love of Sports podcast about jumping into the world of Sports Business. We also talk about how to decide if you should have that card grade. And we talk about the injustice of the double standard which allows your wife or girlfriend (WOG?) to take/move your stuff with impunity but it's a capital offense for you to touch hers!
Leighton Sheldon of Just Collect and Vintage Breaks does a card swap with a view live on the show! He also talks wrestling cards and tips off Vintage Breaks' upcoming demonstration of their new grading assist service. You are going to want to hear all about that! We also talk bagels with cream cheese and jelly. You heard me.
This week host Leighton Sheldon of Just Collect Inc. and Vintage Breaks talks about a new grading service that will make your grading back up a little more tolerable. We also talk about the Brady Bunch, their card set, and some of the athletes who appeared on the show, as well as remembering some of our favorite actresses from the past! And oh by the way, Vintage Breaks is doing a break and signing with an NBA Hall of Famer, find out who!
On this episode of Leighton's Loft, your host Leighton Sheldon of Vintage Breaks and Just Collect talks with Howard Burman, author of Mutt's Dream, The Making of the Mick! They'll talk about how the dreams of his father shaped the Mickey Mantle we all know from his humble beginnings in Oklahoma.
Leighton talks with collector James Phillips about his work with rescue animals (and we'll meet James' newest rescue, Rudy!). He also talks about buying newer cards at your local big box store as a flipping strategy and introduces us to Vintage Breaks' Card Shop finder!
Leighton shows off the previous night's Zion Williamson rookie auto pull and talks about how to flip cards and maintain your sanity. We also talk White Castle and Bubba Burgers and ask if there are any forbidden condiment combinations.
We've all had to say goodbye to a canine companion. It was Leighton Sheldon's turn this week as he says goodbye to Argon and offers to help (with $1,000) someone from the community to adopt a four-legged best friend. He also offers to match up to $500 in donations to the ASPCA by reimbursing donators with break credit. Join Leighton and our listeners as we share this experience.
Don't miss this week's edition of Leighton's Loft with Leighton Sheldon of Vintage Breaks and Just Collect! Leighton talks with Chris Ko from Vintage Breaks West about his collection, his path to the hobby and Vintage Breaks, his work with EA Sports, and life lessons learned along the way. As always we'll have at least 7 LIVE giveaways (in honor of Mickey Mantle) and of course, we'll have lots of laughs with all of our friends. We are also scheduled to talk with one of our favorite collectors! It's the Hobby's Block Party where we talk about collecting, life anything else that catches our attention! Swing on by and invite a friend!
On Leighton's Loft this week, Leighton Sheldon, from Vintage Breaks and Just Collect, talks with Brad Balukjian, author of “THE WAX PACK: On the Open Road in Search of Baseball’s Afterlife” which follows Brad as he tracks down players from a single pack of baseball cards from 1986 that had remained sealed for almost thirty years. Players he visited include Carlton Fisk and Doc Gooden.
