Rookie Tyler Phillips helped the Phillies avoid being swept in Pittsburgh. Rookie James Wood went Yard late and helped the Nationals complete a sweep over the Reds. Dodgers hit 6 home runs in finishing off sweep of the Red Sox. 6! Yordan Alvarez collected a 1B, 2B, 3B & HR & we call that hitting for the cycle. Seth Lugo went the distance for KC.
Pirates walk one off vs. the Phillies. Freddie Freeman’s Grand Slam sunk the Red Sox. The Orioles hit 4 home runs in Arlington, including 2 from Anthony Santander. The A’s hit 3 home runs and thumped the Angels. The Astros are in 1st place in the AL West.
Wow. The A’s hit 8 home runs against Phillies pitching---Lawrence Butler hit 3 of them...A’s back home where it all started for the franchise took 2 of 3 in Philly. What a win for the Orioles. They needed that 1! Horrible loss for the Yankees. The Pirates are at .500 at the break and I do think that’s a really big deal.
What a comeback for the Tigers. Rece Hinds is Roy Hobbs. Not really, but wow! What a great start to his Big League career. Kutter Crawford turned in another strong outing for the Red Sox. Dylan Cease and the Padres pen shut down the Braves. & the Yankees have won 2 in a row for the 1st time in a long time.
The Yankees and Orioles were on the verge of not playing nice. Willie Calhoun played hero for the Angels. Shohei Ohtani helped the Dodgers end a losing streak. The Astros refuse to lose at home & Taj Bradley and the Rays bullpen combined to blank the Guardians.
Paul Skenes was outstanding, He was stupendous. He was Paul Skenes. The Mets were the last to get their 1st…their 1st shutout win of the season. Tanner Houck helped the Sox to a Series with over the A’s. & The Cubs pulled off a sweep in Charm City. 6 shutouts around baseball Thursday including not 1 but 2 1-0 games. How about that!
Trea Turner went deep in grand fashion…Yankees lost…Again. Red Sox scored 12 runs, 8 in 1 inning.…Ronel Blanco turned in another solid outing for the Astros and the Giants walked off…on a wild pitch.
Ben Rice had his best day in the Majors and so did James Wood. Tyler Anderson gave the Angels a terrific start. The A’s had the bats working big time against the Orioles. & the Tigers have won 2 in a row for the first time in a long time.
The Red Sox are rolling and the Yankees are scuffling. Pirates played home run derby going deep 7 times in thumping the Mets…that’s a lot of home runs…Twins Jose Miranda is a hitting machine. I think I have a good recap of what happened at Target Field, but you’ll have to wait to hear it and then you can grade me. Trea Turner had a night in the ATL.
Jake Irvin was outstanding in Independence day start in our Nation’s Capital. Jose Miranda had a 5-hit day for the Twins. The Reds departed from the Bronx with a 3-Game Sweep. & The A’s blanked the Angels for a 2nd straight game.
