Leonie’s childhood was marred with the death of her parents – one from drugs and the other from cancer. At 16 she decided she didn’t want to live with her extended family anymore and discovered that working in the sex industry paid the bills, particularly her time working as an escort.
In her role as an escort, she met and fell in love with a man 15yrs her senior who introduced her to drugs, she quickly became addicted. And there began a relationship with a man who over time, she realised was a narcissist, who she found was constantly cheating on her, he abused her physically and sexually, stalked her, harassed her, threatened to humiliate her, gaslight her …..and she couldn’t escape. She was stuck and fearful of her life if she did find the courage to leave.
This is Leonie's survival story in her own words.
