This week, we resume our discussion on the reasons why parents justify restricting their children's autonomy. We broaden our scope by looking at generation Z in general, using Billie Eilish and Greta Thunberg as examples of society's prejudice against youth.
This episode, we take a look at how children are treated. We discuss ideas raised in the Not Overthinking podcast and Quill Rebecca Kukla's article titled Taking Children's Autonomy Seriously as a Parent. In particular, we talk about the ways children are treated differently and some of the reasons why parents justify limiting their children's autonomy.
This week, Joshua, Elle, Adrian and Rachel talk about mistakes and getting into trouble. We start off by broadly discussing what we mean by mistakes. Then, we delve into how we got into trouble during our childhood and debate when it's appropriate (if ever) to cheat. We end by examining the effectiveness of caning as a method of punishment.
This week Joshua, Adrian, Rachel and Elle chat about languages. We state the different languages we speak and discuss what it means to be bilingual or trilingual.
