On this weeks episode of Les Incompetent, we cover the 1935 film "Captain Blood." Technically a remake of a 1924 silent film, Captain Blood tells the story of Doctor Peter Blood, and how the world around him shapes him into becoming Captain Blood. This film, not only launched Errol Flynns career, but also does a surprisingly good job at showcasing the pirate lifestyle, time period, and preservation of what makes the time period interesting.

On this weeks episode of Les Incompetent, we cover Walt Disneys 1950 film "Treasure Island." Considered by many to create the defining and lasting image of pirates we have to this day, we go over what the film does right, wrong, and why Robert Newtons portrayal of Long John Silver is so important in the portrayal of pirates. 

Today, April 14, we celebrate the 113th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic with our good friend and resident Titanic enthusiast Nathan Tehrani. We go over the books "A Night to Remember" and "On a Sea of Glass" as well as discussing differences in the event as opposed to the 1997 blockbuster "Titanic." 

On this weeks episode of Les Incompetent, we finish the last section of Colin Woodards book "The Republic of Pirates." We discuss the fall of Blackbeard, Woodes Rogers fate in England, and the closing on the Golden Age of pirates.
