Part IV, the final instalment of our Reasons 03 compilation closes 2024 in style with four tracks from Magic.Made.By.R & Dario Dea, Tolu, Jonas Fritz and Yonn & Nael.

Opening the final part of Reasons 03 is What I Feel by the Ukrainian, Berlin-based Magic.Made.By.R and the Urge To Dance family member Dario Dea. Joyful and energizing, the track offers pumping kicks, beautiful synths and irresistibly catchy melody turning it into an infectiously danceable affair.

Tolu makes his debut on Urge To Dance with Backroom - a slow-burner breakbeat with dirty synths and acid touches, coupled with a naughty vocal inviting you to move slowly to the rhythm of the track.

The pack continues with Jonas Fritz and his How We Play. Driving grooves and optimistic soundscapes, reminding us of a summer long gone, intertwine in delivery that is both working on the dancefloor as well as an intimate listening experience.

Finally, to close the four weeks of 16 reasons to dance, is Free From You by Yonn & Nael. Dynamic vibes, catchy percussions and playful synths put a cheerful and cheeky close to Reasons 03.

@philosophyofsound (P.O.S) is the brainchild of Martin K, a Polish-born, Australia-based producer known for his multidisciplinary approach to music and technology. As a music producer, academic, and live performer, Martin K’s work spans multiple projects, including P.O.S, KOshowKO, and the iubar project, each reflecting his commitment to creating thought-provoking, genre-blurring music. With releases on respected labels such as Discotexas, Emerald & Doreen, and, most recently, Golden Soul Records, as well as collaborations with artists like Chicks On Speed, Severed Heads, and B(if)tek, Martin has established himself as a dynamic presence in electronic music.

His acts have graced stages at festivals such as White Night, Electundra, and St Kilda Festival in Australia, along with a tour across Germany. His music has garnered global recognition, highlighted by “The Story”, a song that reached the finals of the International Songwriting Competition in 2009, alongside screenings of his music videos at various music and film festivals.

Philosophy of Sound initially gained traction through releases on Discotexas, where P.O.S’s signature blend of danceable beats and reflective lyrics garnered acclaim. Tracks like “Freedom, What For?” resonated deeply, spending four weeks in Beatport’s Top 30 and featuring an interactive music video lauded for its socially conscious messaging. In crafting P.O.S’s sound, Martin frequently collaborates with a range of musicians and vocalists, merging electronic production with live instrumentation.

After a hiatus, during which Martin completed a PhD focused on remote music collaboration and pursued several side projects, Philosophy of Sound is making a return in late 2024. Reinvigorated with new collaborators, including multi-instrumentalist Sebastian Barahona, and fresh material, this comeback begins with the release of “Moonlights” on @golden-soul-records. Complete with remixes by @peteatlas and James Rod & Aleito, this new single marks an exciting chapter for Philosophy of Sound, combining a renewed artistic vision with P.O.S’s signature approach to music production.

Invoking shades of ‘90s and ‘00s masters like DJ Shadow and Portishead, both tracks, “Breather” and “Bruv,” illustrate time-lost scenes of sophisticated yet hallucinogenic instrumentation and percussion that could belong in upscale jazz clubs or woozy after-hours sessions. Breather expands the label’s breadth from timeless breaks and house music to include crackling, mind-altering trip-hop, acid jazz, and downtempo. The two songs are the building blocks for a larger, forthcoming body of work by ANIML, set for release in early 2025 alongside a vinyl release, video, and extras.

Recognized by both mainstream (Billboard) and underground (Beatportal) tastemakers alike, StrataSonic was created to empower artists and explore the depths of their musical expression free from the confines of genre. From uptempo house to tribal to ambient, the label celebrates experimentation, champions artistic freedom, and embraces the beauty of non-conformity. Each release on the label will be available on vinyl and be accompanied by a music video. StrataSonic will also create bespoke merch lines alongside releases and host curated playlists by friends and family of the label, such as acclaimed DJ turned photographer Bill Patrick.

Nestled in a private enclave in Los Angeles, StrataSonic's home is the state-of-the-art recording studios helmed by the label’s in-house producers and has become the music industry's best-kept secret. With an unparalleled collection of vintage gear and deep technology, this sonic sanctuary serves as a platform for both emerging and seasoned artists.

Sonan, a rising 24-year-old house music producer from Amsterdam, teams up with his best friend, and fellow established Dutch house produced Didier Armeni to deliver a soulful house masterpiece, "One Day You Came." This collaboration merges Sonan's soulful house sound with Didier's knack for crafting classic house tunes, resulting in a track that's as timeless as it is danceable.

"One Day You Came" features soulful vocals layered over a classic house beat, blending smooth melodies and infectious rhythms to create a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The track perfectly encapsulates Didier Armeni's signature style, known from hits like "Zonnetje Op M'n Porem," "Bovenste Etage," and his 2021 album Medicijn, as well as Sonan's emotional, story-driven approach that captivated the world with his viral debut song, "Loud Enough".

Artist Quote - "‘One Day You Came’ is a celebration of soulful house music—a track that captures both nostalgia and timeless energy. It’s about those magical moments when music brings people together, and we’re thrilled to share this with the world.” – Sonan & Didier Armeni"
