Today we will explore why only 77% of California 15 and older have mid to high literacy skills and what we can do about it.
Hello and welcome to the Less Is More Education Podcast with your Host Steve Flores where I review the research that is most relevant to pedagogy and education policy to help teachers in their on-going learning.
Today I review the seminal article Working Memory by Alan Baddeley. Working memory is a model of memory for short-term memory storage and manipulation. Listen to hear how working memory can help you leverage your students minds for better instruction.

Today, I review a theory of memory encoding and storage called the Levels of Processing authored by Fergus I. M. Craik and Robert S. Lockhart. I found the Levels of Processing theory really relevant to teaching and understanding how students store things into their short-term memory. I hope you can incorporate these ideas into your teaching as well!
