A: What do you want to eat?

「何食べたい？」

K: I think I want something spicy.

「なんか辛いものが食べたいなぁ。」

A: There is a Thai restaurant right here.

「ちょうどここにタイ料理店があるよ。」

K: It looks a bit old.

「ちょっと古そう。」

A: How about that Indian restaurant?

「あのインド料理店はどう？」

K: That looks better. Let’s go there.

「良さそうだね。そこに行こう！」

Practice:

●There is a Thai restaurant right here.

「ちょうどここにタイ料理店があるよ。」

There is / There are は「〜があります。/ 〜がいます。 」という意味。

●There is a wallet on the ground.

「財布落ちてる。」

ground「地面 / 広場」

直訳は「地面に財布がある」と言う意味。

●There’s a new student in my class.

「クラスに新入生がいます。」

There is は省略してThere’sにできます。
