In the story of Jesus healing the Roman Centurion’s servant, one notices the soldier’s humility. He was an important soldier in Rome’s chain-of-command, but because he understood authority, he knew his place. Pastor Mark will continue teaching about Jesus’ view of authority as well as His demonstration of the authority He had over sickness. We will be reminded of our need to have more faith as well as the nature of faith. We’ll also see another example of Jesus exercising His authority over the physical realm when he raises a young man from the dead. The faith of these people should be encouraging to us.

This world is in turmoil – that can’t be denied. We Christians claim to have been found by the One Who can calm the stormy seas of life. Such was the case when Jesus walked the earth. Pastor Mark will be teaching about the story of the Centurion and his faith. One of the takeaways of this story is that someone told this Roman soldier about Jesus, which meant that Jesus had affected someone’s life so much that they had to tell someone about Him. Pastor Mark will be sharing about the importance of personal humility and how that played a role in the Centurion’s life, as well as the significance of humility in our lives.

When we look at the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis, God created Eve because Adam was alone, and lonely. That’s why people get married these days, usually. The challenge for us, though, is to remember that we wanted to be in an intimate relationship with someone. Pastor Mark will be teaching about the Bible verses that speak of enjoying your spouse, loving and respecting your spouse, and the like. He will be reminding us of the need to cultivate friendship within the marriage and the need for physical intimacy. Pastor Mark will be talking about the truth of eventually being alone, and how to minimize your regrets once you arrive there.

The institution of marriage in the American church is under attack from without and within. Many single Christians are having sex and even living with a partner outside of marriage. In addition, many marriages are not what they should or could be. Pastor Mark will be teaching about building a proper foundation for marriage, which begins with a proper relationship with God. Realizing that God created marriage and knows the attitude the husband and wife need to have toward God and one another is a starting place. Pastor Mark will be expanding on what scripture has to say about our attitudes and how that affects our actions.

It’s very popular for couples to live together outside of marriage these days. Even in the Church, this is happening. Pastor Mark will be speaking on this phenomenon and why those that say they follow Christ have chosen to disobey Him. We will be reminded of God’s original intent for men and women as well as for marriage. This will help us understand why there is such dysfunction in couple’s relationships these days. Pastor Mark will also encourage us to look to Jesus for direction in our lives and, more importantly, to do what Jesus says, no matter the personal cost to our lives.
