You've just scored the trip of a lifetime to an exotic destination, due to the generosity of a Friend, who's lived there forever and wants you to enjoy it along with Him. You're so pumped you start absorbing everything you can. You learn the language, the culture, what you can eat, and what to stay away from. You've become a travel book expert. The dream quickly becomes a nightmare because, you never connected with your friend, you lost your luggage and nothing's going as planned. This scenario isn't too far off of what happens if you don't stay in touch with the one that'll help you do life right.

In times of trouble people will look to anyone for an answer, even if it's the wrong answer. We'll be listening to a message recorded just four days after the terrible tragedy of nine one one. As with any devastation its hard to imagine things getting worse, but yet life, done the wrong way, keeps happening over and over and over again. As a Christian how you respond in crisis, determines what you really believe about God. The more we get to really know Him helps us confidently manage our own personal trials and allows us to appropriately help others through their's.

Right off the get go let's review a few things we've been learning. In preparation to start doing life, on the right foot, one step at a time you'll need to walk with Jesus on the right path, there's only two and one leads to death. Listen to and obey God's Word, it's the only way you'll ever become like His Son. Make sure all your steps are efficient, God will guide you...consult Him. Finally, beware of tempting detours and potential danger. Scripture says to make level paths for your feet and take only the ways that are firm. Okay. Let's walk this way and discover the last step to guarantee happy, healthy, beautiful feet.

Today Pastor Mark teaches that God guides our steps as we're in the process of walking with Him. He says, He guides us as we're moving forward. We can't accomplish anything being idle because thats as effective as trying to steer a vehicle when it's not moving..the wheels are all locked up. The application in a spiritual sense is that we should be maturing and growing as we're serving Him. God's Word says it best. Be careful how you live..be wise. Make the most of opportunities because the days are evil. And finally, don't be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

It's been calculated that If you reach fifty years of age, you'll have used your feet to travel over seventy five thousand miles. That's the equivalent of three times around the earth, wow! Well, before you wear yourself out, or maybe you have already, it's time to evaluate a couple of things. Is the route that you take crooked, or straight? Is it a crowded highway, or a lonely road? Today we'll learn that to do life right we need to think about the path we're on. Proverbs sixteen, twenty five says there's a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

We can never go forward, until we let go of the past. If you're a Christian, it's not a matter of if, but when satan's going to try and direct your eyes back to past failures. Today Pastor Mark reminds us, there isn't anyone alive that hasn't made numerous serious mistakes. We have a few choices, we can allow satan to bring us down, or we can let it go. Don't forget, if you want to do life right when you begin to gain perspective about whats important, the focus you want to have isn't here on the troubles of this world, but rather a heavenly, hopeful focus.

Everyone of us have areas we're weak in. The laundry list is long and we've done a thorough job of making victory seem impossible. Today Pastor Mark helps us understand that God can deliver anyone from ANY sinful lifestyle IF they want deliverance. First you must start with a healthy heart. Have you surrendered your life to Christ? When change starts to happen, it'll be important to then make a covenant with your eyes. Keep them from looking at sinful temptations. Finally in order to win at doing life right you'll need to keep your eyes focused on God's goals.

Mirror, mirror on the wall...this method didn't end very well for Snow White's stepmom and it won't work for us either. Scripture says haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin! Today we learn that directing our lives by our own insight, our own will, our own self sufficiency, eventually ends in disaster. Proverbs three, seven tells us, don't be wise in your own eyes instead, fear the Lord and resist evil. The reflection of our heart always reveals the truth and if we remain connected to Christ, the vine, we'll bear righteous fruit...not poison apples!

Christian parents, teachers, bosses – are you're words life or death? Today Pastor Mark warns us to consider this as we learn, that on our own, apart from God, we can't control what we say. Scripture says the tongue is untamable and poisonous, but God has a cure! First we must start with a changed heart, this happens when you become a Christian. Second guard your mouth, by being quick to listen, slow to speak and avoiding anger. Finally, speak only helpful words, words of godly counsel and good advice. Keep in mind, believers should positively affect not infect those around them.

Today Pastor Mark covers a lot of ground. He say's it's important that if we call ourselves Christians, we must be careful with what we say and how we say it. Some situations make it difficult to remain graceful and that's when its best to just keep silent. James one, twenty six says, if you think you're a believer but can't control your tongue, you're just fooling yourself. God designed our mouths to speak truth and help others do life right, so when you're tempted to be critical, negative or condemning, focus on Christ, His example and the redemption of the cross.
