The world talks a lot about role models, mentors, and the like. Pretty much everyone has someone they follow, whether they realize it or not. Parents are encouraged in the Bible to be role models for their children, instructing them in the ways of godly living. Pastor Mark will be expanding on this concept, teaching what scripture says about role models both good and bad. You’ll learn more about the different lifestyle that the Christ follower is supposed to have and how to be an example of that living to those around you. You’ll be told who the example is that you should be following, as well.

Although there are many things in the world that have gotten better – diseases do less damage than they used to, for instance – there are other areas that have not improved. Families are in chaos, there is more breakdown in society in many places around the world. Pastor Mark will be teaching about the cause of this disorder, which is the result of people believing the lies Satan tells them. You’ll hear how the world system, being controlled by the devil, is the opposite of what God intended for the world. You’ll find out how God wants you to live and what will happen when you do life God’s way.

The feelings of guilt and failure after having given in to temptation are some of the worst feelings to have, aren’t they? Knowing you’ve broken faith with God and have to go through the process of repentance and forgiveness is tough to do, but thank God that He’s always there, ready to take you back! Pastor Mark will be reminding you of this constant battle, helping you understand that everybody deals with this in their own way. The good thing, though, is that God is always there, encouraging you to do what is right, and picking you back up when you do the other thing.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die.” Humans try to prolong death for as long as possible. Trying to get their bodies as physically fit as they can, they hope to keep the Grim Reaper away for one more year. Pastor Mark will be teaching about the fact that everyone faces death. He’ll be talking about the sad truth that many people die having lived their lives in constant rebellion against the God who wants to give them never-ending life. You’ll hear about this tragic rejection of life, and how you can talk to people about this before it’s too late for them.

Do you notice how easy it is for some people to lie, even to your face? Everyone just takes for granted that politicians – the people we entrust to run our governments – are mostly liars. Even clergymen are not immune from being looked at in this way. Pastor Mark will, in his teaching today, explain why this is the norm in the world. You’ll hear about the originator of lies and the creator of truth, and about the battle they’re waging on the earth. You’ll find out what your part in this war is, which side you were born into, and how and why you need to get on the winning side of the conflict.

In some places around the world, life’s pretty tough if you’re a Christ follower. People are being run out of their houses and out of town. Many are being killed simply for following Jesus. But Pastor Mark will be teaching today that what is seen now doesn’t even compare to the persecution that will happen to those who reject the mark of the beast and choose to follow Jesus. You’ll learn why people will reject the peace and prosperity that the Antichrist seems to offer, and the hardships that people will experience because of their willingness to side with Jesus.

Have you ever read the disasters and calamities in Revelation that’ll happen when God brings His final judgment on the earth? It’s really quite scary to think about all of that stuff happening and men still won’t do anything but curse God. Pastor Mark will be teaching about this sad state of men’s thinking which shows that their heart only wants to do what it wants to do. You’ll hear about God’s amazing mercy, in that even in the middle of His judgment of the earth He’s still giving men a chance to turn to Himself. You’ll learn that God’s love shows through even in the worst of times.
