In this message rev Brenda gives an update on this weekend's Prayer-A-Thon. Members express the wonderful time they had during Prayer-A-Thon which included some fanstastic activites. In addition to hearing rev Brenda give update on Prayer-A-Thon you get to listen to the wonderful music of Unity's own Awesomesauceness (Nina Swanson, Johnny Lipford and Tom Zimmerman). 

After a 4 week hiatus, we are delighted to have Rev b back at UnityCR. We are looking forward to updates from Unity Village as well as tales of her adventures in the west. Welcome Back!

Always entertaining and enlightening, Ted Collins is the Dean of the Unity Institute and Seminary in Unity Village, MO.  His topic is: "If I Ruled the World" .  Have you ever found yourself wondering why other people act the way they do, and how easy it would be to fix them if they would just listen to you?  Well then, this Sunday is for you. 

Guest speak Janith Griffiths talk on  “To Be Healed by the Earth,” will highlight the lessons to be learned from summer solstice. Jan is a retired Oncology Nurse and a Healing Touch and Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry Practitioner. She has been a member of Unity Cedar Rapids since 2001 and received her License as a Unity Teacher/Leader in 2009. As an active member of the Leadership Circle, Janith is team leader for the Exploring Unity Series,  an Enlightened Living Facilitator, and  a member of the Spiritual Care Team.

Guest Speaker Jonas Magram: His topic is "The Heart of the Bhagavad Gita."  Jonas will briefly recount the story of the Mahabharata, the Indian epic in which the Bhagavad Gita serves as the central teaching. The conflict between the heart and mind of Arjuna, the greatest warrior of his time, renders him incapacitated on the field of battle. Turning to his charioteer, the incarnation of Absolute Wisdom, Arjuna is given the keys to liberation and success in action, which are as applicable to us today as they were for him over 5000 years ago. Jonas has taught and practiced tools for transformation for over 40 years. His style is joyful, interactive, personal and practical.   

Mary is a mystic and Licensed Minister with the Teachers of God Foundation. Mary's awakening brought her to A Course in Miracles, which accelerated her healing as she began to remember her true nature and God's will for her. Being completely dependent on God, Mary is committed to teaching only truth and dedicates her life to helping others free themselves from their pain by transforming fear into love.

We are planning an extraordinary service at UCR this week,  Tom Zimmerman and the Yahoo Drummers will be with us to make a joyful noise.  Remember to come early (9 am) to get your Sunday mojo moving with the Yahoo Drummers.  During the service, we will continue our celebration with the Yahoos, welcome our newest members and kick off our 40 days of Prayer-A-Thon consciousness.

This week we wrap up our series on the creative process, covering days six and seven.  On day six, we create, we co-create ourselves in God’s image and likeness. There is a lot to be learned about that word “dominion”. And on day seven we rest.

This Sunday, In the creative process, we have under our belts pre-creation, illumination, firmament (faith), dry land, vegetation, and trees of every kind with seeds.  This week, we will discover the application of the fourth step (greater light and lesser light) and our fifth step, swarms of living creatures. 

Rev Brenda continues our series about the Creative Process. We have our pre-creation period and Day 1, the light – realization of God’s presence. We will continue our process with Days 2 and 3 from the creation story, discovering the significance of the firmament and separating the dry land from the waters. How do we use faith and imagination in our co-creative process?
