Cs: Sníh pokrýval celou krajinu a chladný vítr se opíral do oken internátní školy.
En: Snow covered the entire landscape and a chilly wind pounded against the windows of the boarding school.
Cs: Uvnitř se studenti připravovali na vědeckou soutěž, kterou měla škola pořádat.
En: Inside, the students were preparing for a science competition that the school was set to host.
Cs: Všechny projekty byly vystavené v tělocvičně, kam se brzy měli začít scházet učitelé a porota.
En: All the projects were displayed in the gymnasium, where teachers and the jury were soon expected to gather.
Cs: Jan, pilný student, stál před svým projektem – modelem sluneční soustavy.
En: Jan, a diligent student, stood before his project—a model of the solar system.
Cs: Pečlivě se věnoval každému detailu.

En: “Jáne, you have a different label there!” he said.
Cs: Jan se zděsil.
En: Jan was shocked.
Cs: Byl čas prezentovat a on stál před projektem se špatným názvem.
En: It was time to present, and he stood in front of his project with the wrong name.
Cs: Jan se zhluboka nadechl.
En: Jan took a deep breath.
Cs: Bylo příliš pozdě na změny.
En: It was too late for changes.
Cs: Vystoupil před publikum.
En: He stepped in front of the audience.
