In the summer of 2014, my mother at the young age of 96 ½ suffered a stroke that left her blind and confined to bed for the rest of her life, an additional 11 weeks. It was during those 11 weeks when I moved in with my mother to oversee her care that my eyes were opened to many things I did not know – or at least I thought I didn’t know.
I was lucky to meet my mother’s neighbors and learn about her interactions with them, and some were women her age who attended elementary or high school with her and had stories to share bringing me one step closer to my momma.
We all learn lessons and this podcast is about the Lessons we Learned through our parents, teachers, clergy, siblings, and friends.
Weekly when I podcast with my brother Gary Just 4 the Spell of It, I learn more about him and the game of scrabble as well as little life lessons hidden in the conversations.
