Lessons With Strangers Ep. 6 ft. @paolaforpisd Hey everyone! Welcome back! Today I’m excited to announce our 6th episode ft. @paolaforpisd! - Paola is a mother, wife, mental health therapist, and Pasadena ISD Trustee. - Paola gave some excellent advice here about how hurt people are the best helpers. Going through different circumstances in life are meant to shape you on your journey, and you can use those experiences to help someone else who may be going through something similar. Once you’ve healed from your past you now have the ammunition to bless others through your trials and tribulations! What are you going to do about that? Sit and sulk or be proactive about using your past to help someone else’s future. - Thank you @paolaforpisd for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share some wisdom with us!
Lessons With Strangers EP 4 | Featuring @meganwgallagher!!! - Megan is a TEDx speaker, author, blogger, and mental health advocate for teenagers! I am super grateful that she would take time out of her day to share some advice with us, and tell her story. - Megan’s advice here in this video on being accountable to your career path, and how you do in life is HUGE. I think we all struggle to some degree of expecting things to go a certain way, or expecting opportunities to arise, I know I do. The problem with that mindset is it is very defensive based. It’s a very powerful perspective when you decide you are going to take the steps necessary to be where you want to be vs to waiting for things to cross your path. - For me this advice is great for where I am now. I am in the process of building a business, selling clothing, finding more clients, building a YouTube presence, and many more things. A lot of the times I think to myself that clients will just come knocking at the door, and that just isn’t the case. It takes persistence, going to the meetings, having the phone calls, and showing up everyday. - Thank you for watching & reading. - ❤️
Lessons With Strangers EP 3 | Featuring @bobbbaaaay! - This guy drops some truth bombs for anybody that is in the creative field. In order to move fast you have to stop caring about people’s opinions so much. - “A lot of people don’t fully understand the vision, and will never fully understand the vision you have for something, and that should not stop you from going forward with that one thing that you want to do.” - It’s nobody else’s job to believe in you, or what you want to accomplish. That is 100000% your responsibility. So why would you give them the power to dictate whether your decisions or strategy are “correct”? -
Lessons With Strangers EP 2 | Featuring @christianpena.photos - On this episode I had the opportunity to chat with @christianpena.photos! A Houston based photographer who is killing the game in all aspects. - In early 2016 Christian took the time to meet with me to discuss his photography journey and drop me some knowledge. That was very important to me because I was very eager to learn and Christian was crushing the game back then and still is. -
Lessons With Strangers EP 1 | Featuring @silverbackfitnesshtx - Lessons With Strangers was created to highlight individuals throughout the world, and share their unique perspectives with people who may never be able to cross paths with these amazing individuals. The concept is interviewing people, and asking them for one piece of advice based on their experiences. Could be life advice, business advice, anything the person feels motivated to share. - The first person is my mentor/friend @silverbackfitnesshtx. He’s the owner of @befitgymhouston. He calls himself a personal trainer because his passion is people, helping his clients, and making sure each person that steps foot in his gym feels welcomed. - Back in 2017 I asked @silverbackfitnesshtx for some advice because I was trying to get better at making videos, and take next steps toward my career. His advice pushed me to keep working at making videos, and played a huge role in me making my move to New York. - Thank you.
