Throughout the Gospel of John we find sentences affirming the divinity of Jesus Christ. Some people say that Jesus Christ was just a good man. C.S. Lewis, however, observed that good men don’t go around claiming to be God. Either Jesus was what He claimed to be, or He was mad! This study will look into John’s gospel, and will discuss a few of those who witnessed the divine nature of Jesus.

Jesus not only spoke profound truths about Himself throughout His ministry, but also demonstrated His divine authority through miraculous signs. These very acts of love and power led to acceptance and division among the people. This study will explore the witness of John the Baptist, the reactions of the crowds, and even the testimony of God the Father to gain a deeper understanding of who Jesus is—the Lamb of God, our Saviour, and the promised Messiah. Join us as we uncover the powerful testimonies that continue to draw all people to Him.

During the time Jesus walked the earth, racial prejudice had been alive and well between the Jews and the Samaritans for centuries. It was so entrenched that the two neighbouring populations avoided any physical contact with each other. This is the environment within which Jesus, a Jew, took his public ministry. This study will discuss Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well, along with the testimony of the Samaritans.

The Messiah had been promised since the fall of man in Genesis 3:15. The major and minor prophets foretold His advent. Yet when the Messiah finally arrived, His identity was an issue. Was Jesus the One anointed by God to be the Messiah, or was He an imposter? Today’s study will examine evidence supplied by Christ’s witnesses of Him as the Messiah.

Scholars tell us John was the last surviving disciple, and that he wrote his gospel towards the end of the first century, about 30 years later than Matthew, Mark and Luke. By then the world had changed dramatically, the Romans had destroyed the temple and defeated the Jewish nation. At that time the scattered church was threatened with persecution, waning piety, and Greek heresies doubting the incarnation of Jesus. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote his gospel emphasising the divinity of Jesus as the promised Messiah and God in the flesh, who walked among men. Today we will discuss the prologue to John’s gospel.

One of the most loved books in the Bible is the Gospel of John. Today we begin a new series looking at this New Testament book. John’s gospel differs from the other three gospels, as he was particularly close to Jesus Christ. John explained his purpose as having us believe in Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God. John wants every reader to believe in Jesus and gain life through Jesus’ name.

This event is the basis for the hope of us all, that Jesus will raise back to life all those that die with their faith in him. Join us as we discuss this momentous event in the ministry of Jesus and conclude our studies on the gospel of Mark.

The arrest, trial, and execution of Jesus was a shameful example of injustice upon an innocent person. Everyone involved knew He was innocent. As prophesied, Jesus allowed it to happen without retaliation. Join us as we discuss the last hours of Jesus’ life, as outlined in Mark 15, where He endured the humiliation and brutal treatment of the Romans.
