School streaming is the practice of steering some students toward academic (university-track) credits and other students toward applied credits (where university access is less assured) The system has already been under fire for years, due to the evidence that children from lower-income households and minority families were disproportionately being streamed away from university access.

Shadeism is defined as the discrimination against an individual on the basis of their skin tone. If history is a true indicator, one has to look at the days of slavery. A prime example of this would be the division of those who were light skinned and those who were dark skinned. The lighter toned people were considered to be far more beautiful than that of their darker counter parts. As a result, the lighter skinned people either worked closer to or inside the house. On the other hand, those who were darker, worked in the field and unlike their counterparts, had to sleep in shacks on plantation grounds.

During the height of COVID-19, the Canadian Military were stationed in a number of long term care homes to assist with the safety of it's residents. However, what they would find and report back was far more disheartening than the COVID 19 reports. Cockroach and bug infestations, seniors calling out repeatedly for help, rotting food, COVID-19-infected patients put in the same room with those who are healthy, missed meals, seniors left in soiled diapers and linens - these are just some of the things Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel have seen while helping in five long-term care homes in Ontario.
