One word to some up this episode? Ehhhhhhhh. We do our last practice scenario for the semester. Hear us bicker over pizza paraphernalia, adverse effects and lament the stressful weeks to come
Thanks for listening to us for the past few weeks - we'll be taking a break to study for our exams and OSCE's, but we'll be definitely back for more. In the weeks to come. Best wishes to everyone with exams coming up and congratulations to interns who have finished theirs too!
Bless. TxM
Today Mary practices counselling clopidogrel and amitriptyline. We discuss feedback given by mentors and tutors, how to structure our counselling and how to empathise and speak naturally.
We're back! Exams knocked the air out of us, so in this week's pod we'll be discussing COPD and doing a practice counselling session on inhaler technique.
With mid-semester exams fast approaching we decided to keep it laid back today and talk about whatever came to mind. Join us as we laugh, we sigh and we try to avoid burnout during these stressful times.
Today we chat about how we're feeling about online learning, what we like, what we dislike, and what could be improved. We talk about our motivation to study and work (or lack thereof) and how to get up on our feet again despite sitting in the same spot for hours on end.
Today we talk about our experiences thus far with the OSCE, what we are expecting in the coming ones we have as we progress through this degree, and how we feel/prepare for them. Mary talks about her 'white coat syndrome' and Tom talks about the importance of making mistakes. We also practice a counseling scenario for atorvastatin in this week's podcast.
Today's topic is gout, not just any ol' joint pain and swelling and often times life-long. We discuss what gout is, how it precipitates, what can exacerbate the symptoms and what are the treatmets available. We also talk about why open-ended questions are importantand and why developing commnuication skills is key to information gathering from patients.
*OSCE Scenarios are all provided and the property of the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy
Season 2 of Let Me Finish is officially here! This season we want to put more focus on pharmacy and our education, and we thought hey why not practice our OSCE oral exams and get familiar with using our resources while doing a podcast, kill two birds with one stone? So here we are, and today we're focusing on psoriasis.
*OSCE scenario examples are all the property of the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy
*WARNING: MAY TRIGGER AN ADVERSE REACTION. IF OUR PODCAST BEGINS TO UPSET YOU, PLEASE STOP WATCHING AND IMMEDIATELY TALK TO YOUR SUPPORT TEAM* Today's episode is a heart-to-heart on mental health during dark times in our lives, how we've overcome them, how we haven't, and how we continue to live with the trauma as we grow older and wiser
Episode 9 today is about FOOOOOOD! We talk about what food means to us, what our favourite foods are, what aren't our first choices and our love of cooking and baking!
