Let Me Tell You Somethin' Bitch

My parents weren't old enough to drink when I was born 🙃. Ironically, they're the reason I drink. Just kidding, I gave up libations, but they were a hefty part of why I needed therapy. In this episode, I discuss the reasons I am not here for young parentage and why I'm 34 and still childless. Hint: it's because of my young ass parents.

The older I get, the more I realize The Joker had A LOT of valid points. These days, the rich are so safe they get famous for wealth they've accumulated by stealing our wages/labor, exploiting our needs, and flat out poisoning/killing us; then, use that fame to aquire more wealth and do even more harm. They are not hiding, they are not scared, and that's a problem. We are living in an age, wherein, these people get to find new and inventive ways to shit in our corn flakes, and face zero consequences. Fuck. That.

『Two grassroots groups are alleging Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department
helicopters are disrupting residents in low-income neighborhoods and have sued for the disclosure of information...
Both groups have been working to examine the environmental and health impact of aerial surveillance by police helicopters.
They are looking to expose whether these helicopters are unfairly targeting minority groups.』 - by: Jennifer McGraw

I can tell you right now, the answer is: "yes!"

There's been a lot of talk in these Black Twitter streets about how "we need to bring shame back." It's such a trite, tired, nascent argument, but I still felt that I needed to say somethin'. The people who are doing deliberate harm, in ANY COMMUNITY, are not moved by shame. All shame actually does, is hurt folks who didn't do better, when they didn't know better and already feel horribly about that. I have shame. Now, let me tell you somethin', bitch.

I've been gone for a while, now I'm back on da same shit I was 🤣. In deez trying times, that for many equate to their whole damn lives, we need to acknowledge that existence is a spectrum; band together and vanquish the ruling class. Period.

Gil Scott-Heron said, "the revolution will not be televised," knowing that true revolution happens in people's minds; is the evolution of our thinking. Very many people, indiscriminate of color or creed, have just recently figured out that the government, and the corporations that own the government, do not give a fuck about us. People who, hitherto, have sided with oppressors, are now being radicalized by the knowledge that they are, in fact, being oppressed and complicit in the oppression and exploitation of others. And I think that's fucking dope, because it presents us with an opportunity to dismantle this bitch. 😜

I decided to chat about the slap, because I felt like respectability politics and the colonial compulsion to erase black women were causing folks to be deliberately obtuse.  There is literally legislation being passed to stop hair discrimination that specifically targets black women, and still people think black girl hair is a laughing matter. Black women are not punching bags or punchlines. Folks have been lynched in the name of "protecting" white women and a slap in defense of a black woman got people losing their minds. That slap proved that a lot of folks don't care what is said or done to a black woman and even more need some sense knocked into them.

Though I am not a true crime podcaster, I've been known to give them a listen. In fact, the first podcast I ever listened to was "Serial," back in 2016. I became obsessed with Adnan's case, because it was such a clear case of wrongful conviction. Not just because he had no motive or means to kill Hae, but because even if he did it, there was simply not enough evidence to garner a Murder-1 conviction. The prosecutions entire case was Islamophobia and vibes. It's maddening and I truly wonder how those twelve jurors feel about their verdict.
