In this episode, we’re diving into the name Jehovah Sabaoth — “The Lord of Hosts” or “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” This name shows up for the first time in Scripture when Hannah is crying out to God in 1 Samuel 1:10–11:
“In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. And she made a vow, saying, ‘Lord Almighty [Jehovah Sabaoth], if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life.’”
Let’s break this down: Hannah wasn’t just asking for a baby — she was calling on the God who commands heaven’s armies. She was saying, “I need the God who fights battles no one sees. The God who handles the stuff that’s bigger than people, bigger than systems, bigger than my heartbreak.”
When you call on Jehovah Sabaoth, you’re calling on the God who has authority over angel armies — the God who sees injustice, who knows the fight you’re in, and who steps in with power.
In this episode, we’ll explore where else this name shows up in scripture, what it means when you’re battling spiritual warfare, family issues, or personal struggles, and how to pray from a place of victory, not just survival. You’re not showing up to the fight alone — you’re backed by heaven.
