Moses begins his trip to Egypt to give Pharaoh God’s message to “Let My People Go”. However, there is a key ritual Moses has neglected to perform which must be set right before he can continue. Moses’ brother Aaron meets him along the way and they both go before the elders of Israel. We see the leadership of Israel acknowledge that God is ready to free them, they bow down and worship God.
When the message is given to Pharaoh, he insults God and as God predicted, refuses to let them leave. This sets in motion all the plagues which will come upon Egypt in order to compel Pharaoh to let the Israelites leave.
