Welcome to the show!!! Episode 15 of Vote Your Conscience with Kevin Stolla is called "Let The Government Help!!!" because we will be discussing welfare programs and the inefficiency of them. I'm for a free market, but I also believe we need a safety net for the weakest and most disadvantaged among us. The problem is that there is just too many! How many social programs do we need? How can we keep them in check when there is a different program for everything from diapers to houses? My take is that we should condense our social programs into one at the Federal Level and one at the state level. Cities, townships, and counties can do whatever they want, based on how their constituents vote. That's where the real power should lie anyway. I believe if we condense all of the welfare programs into one, bulk up the amount people get, and then limit the time frame that it can be received for, there can be a reasonable compromise between people from all different sides of the issue. Does anyone truly think you should be able to sit on welfare programs indefinitely? Very few I believe.
