    Length: 04:52:35

    Language: English

    Release date: 03-30-23

    Publisher: Authors Republic

Genres: Self Development, Health & Wellness, Mindfulness & Meditation

    Summary:

Imagine a world where everything is connected, where people work together for the mutual benefit of all living things. Imagine a world full of abundance, love, and prosperity, not driven by scarcity and fear. This is the world of Ayni, and the people of the Andes have lived this way for hundreds of years.

Join Erin Lucero on her personal journey to inter-connectedness. Following the teachings of yoga and shamanism, she shed the fears and false stories in her own life and found love, balance, and harmony within herself and with the world. She offers her journey, along with several practical exercises, as a roadmap and invitation to find love and harmony in your own life. Through her own inner journey, Erin shows that we are all connected, that the world is full of love, and that we can be a part of making it a better place for all living things.

AYNI is a Quechua word that means 'Today for you, tomorrow for me.' It is a way of life that is based on giving, and an understanding that when you are in need the universe will provide. This idea is the foundation for this book and for an entire way of life, one that frees itself from the patriarchy and the destructive patterns of colonialism.

Erin explores this concept through the teachings of yoga and shamanism. The Yoga teachings are based on teachings by Swami Satyananda Saraswati and the ancient yoga texts. The Shamanic teachings are based on the Four Winds Medicine Wheel as developed by Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D, and Erin's journey around this wheel as a student at the Four Winds Institute.

The ancient sages and mystics knew and understood the mind-body-spirit connection in a profound way, and we can look to their ancient wisdom to uncover these long-forgotten secrets. Erin shares this wisdom and how she incorporates it into her own life. She also offers simple yet powerful practices that you can try at home.

    Author: Halli Starling

    Narrator: Mick Janek

    Format: Unabridged

    Length: 02:47:07

    Language: English

    Release date: 03-28-23

    Publisher: Findaway Voices

    Genres: Romance, LGBTQ, Contemporary

    Summary:

A charming - but slightly strange - accidental first meeting at a skate park. Opposites attract. And technically. . . one works for the other one.

Zan has a fast mouth and a lot of technical know-how, so dating hasn't always been easy. He'd set aside any notion of a romantic life to work and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Biking, canoeing, skiing, you name it. He's never tried skateboarding, even though he stops by the skate park near the trail where he bikes to watch boards - and sometimes people - flip, or crash hard.

Instead of skater-watching, Zan meets Deacon. Deacon's odd and interesting, and it turns out, the head of the small indie press of which Zan is a huge fan. Rochester Press puts out the weird and erotic, the dark and mischievous, and finally meeting the head of the press is great. Maybe not so great - Deacon has just hired the printing company Zan works for, and now Zan's in charge of all the new jobs.

    It'll be fine.

Except Zan (and his big mouth) immediately asks Deacon out on a date. And Deacon accepts. There's no fraternization clause in Zan's contract, or Deacon's. It should be fine.

A high-heat novella about two quirky people who would never seek out a date via online platforms or at speed dating. But their weird seems to compliment each other. Add in a romantic picnic date, a rainstorm, and a love of books and the outdoors, and Zan and Deacon might just carry away your heart.

    Language: English

    Release date: 03-28-23

    Publisher: Findaway Voices

Genres: Science & Technology, Biology & Chemistry

    Summary:

In Higher Animals, New Yorker science writer Michael Specter explores how MRNA vaccines have transformed the scientific landscape and helped spark a biotechnology revolution.

Biology is information, and increasingly, that means digital information. We need to think of biology the way we think about computer code, only instead of bits and bytes, we use the genetic letters: ACGT. The widely-used mRNA COVID vaccines offer the most immediate example of this groundbreaking moment in medical and scientific history.

In many ways, the urgency of the pandemic has made the vast potential of mRNA technology obvious. The recent successes of synthetic biologya field in which scientists seek to combine elements of engineering, chemistry, computer science, and molecular biologycould create highly personalized cancer treatments, energy sources that we can grow rather than dig out of the ground, and ways to save species that are vanishing at an alarming rate.

As is often the case with new technologies, many people remain reluctant to accept these advances. And the stakes could not be higher. We are in the early years of a new evolutionary paradigm. What we do now will decide how we usher in a remarkableand potentially dangerousnew era.

By the time a photographer spotted these words on a shirt at a campaign rally for Donald Trump in November 2016, it had long been clear that a growing number of Americans had not-so-subtle reservations about journalists. In an age that some demonize the media as an enemy of the people, its time for a heart-to-heart about what journalism is, and what it could be.
