Naz Meknat escaped life in Iran to find freedom and independence in America. 

What we are seeing in the news, she actually lived through. Naz shares her story in her memoir, 7000 Miles To Freedom which details how she overcame the Morality Police and being abused and held hostage by her then husband.  As a refugee in the United States, Naz was able to take back control of her life and independence in order to launch a successful business as a celebrity stylist, working with people such as Sterling K. Brown and being featured in InStyle and People.  Naz is a women's right advocate and is sharing her story of what life in Iran is really like in order to bring more awareness to what Persian women are going through. This was intense! 

Paulette is a former educator and a crime victim/survivor who now educates the public on how to cope with and even heal from aggressive stalking, death threats, cybercrimes, religious cult tactics, and the weaponization of the courts by stalkers (including religious cult leaders). I've written my first book, Fighting for Justice: Religious Fraud, Mental Illness, and the Collapse of Law & Order, that details the origins and continuation of my four older brothers' abusive behavior (one of my brothers is a cult leader), the failures of our government and our courts to adequately address severe mental health problems and criminal actions, and my hard-won successes to get judgments and injunctions against the worst of my brothers.   

In my book I offer very practical, good sense solutions for victims and for policy makers.   From childhood, my four brothers have subjected me and others to decades of abuse, including abuse by stalking me and others through the courts by filing pro se (without an attorney) utterly meritless lawsuits for no other purpose than to defame, harass, and cause distress.   Abusers often file their lawsuits pro se, and the courts enable and empower these abusers as they weaponize the courts to damage victims emotionally and financially due to the victims' need to hire attorneys to dismiss these abusive lawsuits. I work with legislators to propose and enact better, more protective laws for victims, and I educate people about the political ideology that has created a criminals' paradise that affects every aspect of everyone's life. Most importantly, I work to provide encouragement to other victims/survivors on how to take day by day steps to improve and maintain good mental and spiritual health in the midst of adversity.
