  • How to Start a Company in Florida (part 1) with Mark Miller and Blair Jackson

Starting a company is as easy as saying "Yeah, I can do that for you," and then going forward. The problem with that approach is that you miss out on some opportunities that having your company incorporated offers. You might also be missing out on some necessary legal matters that can keep you on the right side of the law.

In this episode Attorney Blair Jackson, on of our amazing Business Attorneys, and Mark Miller, our Marketing Director, sat down and discussed Mark's new side-venture as a content creator for lawyers and other service providers in the Orlando Area. Mark wants to make sure his company, FirmTheory, is set up properly and in a way that benefits both Mark and the company.

Firm Theory has been working with attorneys and other legal experts on their marketing and messaging for over a decade. They understand the legal field and the unique needs of law firms to stay within the rules of the various Bar Associations and State Laws. Let us help you navigate the space and send out a message that works.

Attorney Blair Jackson has been practicing in Central Florida for over 25 years. He has helped companies in their legal needs, protecting them from litigation and helping them go after others who have broken contracts or done harm to their businesses.

  • How to Tell Your Clients Your Company Ownership is Changing but They Are Still in Good Hands - With Rob Legenhausen of Keiron Partners

Have you ever considered buying out the company you work for? There is a way to do that properly and make sure your clients are prepared and on board with the changes that are coming.

In this episode, Jordan sits down with Rob Legenhausen of Keiron Partners and they talk about the challenges of letting their clients know that there would be an upcoming change of ownership. They discuss how they broke the news to each client and how they made sure everyone was happy and comfortable with the process.

Rob has been a financial advisor for over a decade. How Rob works:

    1. Questions. My relationship with my clients is a long-term one. That’s how I work. I’m not interested in selling you a product and moving on to the next “customer.” The relationships I have with my clients take some time to develop, but it’s worth the effort and I believe it’s the only way to do business.

    2. Expectations. I will layout exactly what you can expect from me in the way of commitment, communication, and time. We’re in this together. Many of my clients think of me as a partner as much as an advisor.

    3. The Now: Let’s talk about what’s going on in your financial life right now. I’m talking about a crystal picture of the “now”. If we’re on the same page from day 1, we’ve taken the first step in laying the groundwork for a successful advisor-client relationship.

    4. Action. This is where I earn my keep. I will spend as much time and effort as necessary to put together a plan based on your goals, and I won’t quit until you’re comfortable with that plan. That’s my commitment to you.

  • Is Your Insurance Agent Really Working For You? with Palmer Trice

Do you only see your insurance agent when they show up once a year to get an increased renewal signed? When was the last time they reached out to you to see how your business was going without trying to sell you something new? Dows your agent ask you if your needs have changed year over year?

Unless you have an agent like Palmer Trice of Insurance Office of America, you might be paying more than you should be or have a policy that doesn't accurately reflect your current needs. Jordan sat down with Palmer to discuss what your insurance agent should be doing for you, and how their interests should reflect yours.

Palmer moved to Orlando to follow a girl, found my way into HR and then insurance.  He did so by talking with a former CFO, who had become a mentor. He helped to find something that was a better fit if Palmer promised to help transition in the next HR Director.

What Palmer says are the 3 biggest mistakes business owners need:

    1. Business owners don't understand insurance, so they push it off and rarely look at the coverages they have in place and the person they have representing them. So many people dislike their agent and how much they're paying, so they avoid it altogether.
    2. They don't put any focus on their claims handling and assume "the rates are the rates." If you control your claims, you'll control your premiums.
    3. Business Owners don't address insurance until it's a problem, and by then it's almost too late.

Park Smiles Dentistry office has been serving the Winter Park area for over 80 years. Since Dr. Wilbur Jennings opened the doors in 1939, the office has been giving people a reason to smile.
