Ryan Granath is a Captain/Paramedic and has been in the fire service for 23 years. He was the 2018 firefighter of the year for community service.  In the last 9 years he, along with his chapter of Men of Fire ch6, have raised $115,000to go towards local veterans. Ryan especially enjoys my time with his son and family.  He road his motorcycle across 36 states so far,  enjoys snowboarding, boating, wrenching and the brotherhood of Men Of Fire. LET’S GO!

Patrick Carrillo is a 27 year active member of the fire service.  He started as an explorer, Auxiliary Firefighter , Firefighter and to his current position as an Engineer. He is Haz Mat Specialist trained, USAR certified and an active member of the departments Honor Guard. He was a founding advisor to his departments Explorer Program and served also as the Auxiliary Firefighter advisor for many years. 

He also has been an instructor at a local college Fire Academy for the last 26 years and currently serving. He’s the lead instructor for Physical fitness, Ropes and Salvage Operations while also assisting in Hose, Ventilation, Forcible Entry, live fire training, and serves as a Drillmaster when needed.  

Pat is also a member of the Rio Hondo Truck Academy Cadre since it’s inception. 

In his spare time he enjoys  Family, friends, his dogs, working out and listening to music and most importantly, giving back to his community and students looking to follow his footsteps.

Loving husband - father of two under two! 
Raised in a small AG town north of Santa Barbara.  He started his career as a Southern California beach lifeguard while in college.  Graduated with a BS in Real Estate Finance. Sold homes and loans prior to the 2009 collapse and then was forced to work as repo man during the down turn.  Ended up on a type 3 chasing wildfires up and down the state with Cal Fire before settling down in Orange County with his wife and kids.  Firefighter by trade.  Cowboy by nature. Always trying to replicate genius. 

He loves God, his family, and Country. He prefers his whiskey neat and steak medium rare. And Alan Jackson’s a living legend.

On December 14th 2017, Cory Iverson, Cal Fire FAE, paid the ultimate sacrifice while battling the Thomas Fire in Ventura County, California.

He was survived by his wife, Ashley, their daughter Evie, and – at the time – their unborn daughter Taylor. Ashley had spent more than half her life battling severe anxiety and depression largely in part from PTSD due to nearly losing her home at the age of 13 from arson, lack of self worth and also from an inner need to help others.

Just one month prior to Cory’s passing, a colleague died by suicide, leaving behind a young child and wife. It was then that Cory understood the gravity of mental health and the devastation it can leave behind in its wake and Ashley first became aware of the mental implications the job can cause. 

Shortly after Cory’s passing, Ashley founded the Iverson Foundation for Active Awareness in order to support first responders through their mental health journey. Listen in and hear this powerful woman’s story, LET’S GO!

Rick Van Tuyl is a 58 year old retired firefighter with 28 years of service. He is a multiple ULTRAMAN finisher, double distance finisher, multiple Ironman finishes, World Champion 12 hour time trial tandem division (with visually impaired athlete), bronze medal in para-cycling road race, guided multiple visually impaired athletes from triathlon camps, husband, father, and grandfather.
