She also discusses the importance of nationally recognizing this piece of “hidden history.”

On this episode, SunAh sits down with Dr. Devon Goss, an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Emory, Oxford College who specializes in race and ethnicity, sports, and the family. Devon shares her research on gymnastics sports commentary and what media’s framing of Black gymnasts can tell us about race, society, and how women’s athleticism is viewed.
