  • MHSAA announces fall sports will begin on schedule

    The MHSAA is moving forward with a plan which first calls for all Fall sports to be started and played as scheduled. However, if the situation deems it necessary, the start of some or all Fall sports practices or competitions could be delayed.   • What’s the best way to protect your finances during the pandemic?

    Keeping a close eye on your Financial activity during the coronavirus pandemic is essentially important, to ensure your fiscal health remains strong.  Emerging in a position of strength requires you to have the wherewithal to successfully budget your money.  According to the 2019 Canadian Financial Capability Survey, Canadians creating and maintaining a budget is one of the most important first steps in managing their money. Approximately  half (49%) of Canadians report having a budget, up from 46% in 2014 ( FCAC, 2015). The most common method of budgeting is using a digital tool, such as a spreadsheet, mobile app, or other financial software (20%).   • Discussing Patrick Mahomes's New Contract with: Harold Kuntz

    The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most  dynamic young quarterbacks in all of football. And they have recently made certain he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The Chiefs and Super Bowl MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes have reached agreement on a 10-year contract extension that ties him to Kansas City through the 2031 season, the team announced.   The contract is worth a staggering $450 million over the 10-year period and could be worth up to $503 million. The extension includes a $140 million injury guarantee, as well as a no-trade clause.   With the massive deal now behind him, is there increased pressure on Mahomes to repeat as a champion next season?  What sort of impact will the contract have on the Chiefs and the league going forward? According to the Windsor-Essex Health Unit Over 1 in 10 households (10.8%) in Windsor-Essex County are moderately or severely food insecure.     The province of Ontario, is preparing a three-scenario plan for returning children to schools across the province, ranging from online learning only to a full resumption of regular class with some distancing measures put in place. Meanwhile, Education Minister Stephen Lecce has purposed a mixed model of students attending class on alternating days or weeks, “cohorted” into groups of no more than 15, with alternating bells and online learning for the days they’re not in class.
