  • You Can’t Succeed In Your Career Without Ambition with: Wendy Alexander

Happiness in your career can be a fluctuating variable. The

definition of career success varies for everyone, especially women in midlife.
Balancing raising children, nurturing relationships, and finding time for
self-care, in addition to their careers and professional growth, can be
    challenging for women.

According to the Wall Street Journal, nearly 65% of men say

they are happy with their jobs compared with 60% of women. The largest gaps in
satisfaction between men and women were related to the financial benefits of
work, such as wages, benefits, and bonuses. Meanwhile, workers aged 45 to 64
already constitute a massive 41% of the 2022 OECD workforce, up from 29% in
1990. As younger populations shrink, employers may want to rethink their job
recruitment and retention strategies to manage this new generational balance.
As individuals stay longer in the workforce, they’ll want to revisit their
career planning and adjust it for longer lives. The 2022 AARP Global Employee
Survey revealed that fully half of the 45+ workforce was hoping to change jobs
within three years. Will companies help or hinder them?

I’m Wendy Alexander, a career coach specializing in helping

mid-life professionals and menopausal women land their dream job. I have had a
unique journey, from life in apartheid South Africa to being held up at
gunpoint in my first job to becoming a single mom left with a crippling
mortgage, to climbing the corporate ladder, and now, living my best life
helping other people get their dream job. I offer a fresh perspective on career
discussions, focusing on mid-life career changes and menopause as a time to pursue
what you’ve always wanted, not just the 'good' job you've been told you should
    do.

  • Use Your Story to Make a Difference with: Brian Fleming

Adversity is one of the greatest forms of persistent

resilience one could ever ask for. It helps to build up our character and our
ability to reason when challenging times strike. One place where this is
particularly evident is in the military. According to the Pew Research Center,
one out of every ten veterans alive today was seriously injured at some point
while serving in the military, and three-quarters of those injuries occurred in
    combat.

Brian Fleming is a combat-wounded war veteran who was

injured by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. He turned his injury into a highly
profitable and influential speaking career and has been a professional speaker,
author, and resilience trainer for over 17 years. He is the Founder of
UseYourStory, where he shows other business-minded people how to make a
difference and a side income by sharing their own stories at UseYourStory.com.

"After being severely injured by a suicide bomber who

exploded 3 feet away from me in Kandahar, Afghanistan, I spent 14 months in a
hospital undergoing painful burn treatments, reconstructive surgery, and brain
injury rehabilitation. After leaving the military, I became an author &
speaker because I wanted to help other people with the lessons I'd learned that
helped me overcome my war injury. Over the past 17 years, I've spoken to over
half a million people in live audiences globally, including the US military and
several of the Fortune 500. I have written 4 books and have been featured on
almost every major news network in America on the topic of resilience and how
to stand firm when everything around you is blowing up! The greatest healing
aspect of my recovery came through sharing my story because I saw it was
helping other people and it also allowed me to be financially productive for my

  • Monica Sander Burns: "Nature is Like a Mirror Into Our Interworlds"

What if I told you that simply walking in the woods or

immersing yourself in nature could significantly reduce stress, enhance
resilience, prevent burnout, and boost creativity? More and more corporate
professionals are embracing forest bathing and forest therapy, known as
shinrin-yoku. This involves consciously and contemplatively taking in the
forest atmosphere using all of one’s senses. It's not just a walk in the woods,
but a practice of being fully immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the
forest. This practice originated in Japan in the 1980s and was later
incorporated into Japan's national health program in 1982. Researchers in Japan
and South Korea have documented a growing body of scientific literature on the
various health benefits of forest therapy.

Monica Sander Burns is a visionary thinker and

earth-intuitive with a mission to recenter reciprocal, healthy relationships
between humans and the natural world. Through her company, SOCIETY of TREES,
she works with organizations to align their workplace cultures with the
regenerative energies of nature, improving employee wellbeing while maximizing
their impact in a sustainable way. She teaches people how to intuitively
connect with the living planet by developing their sensory awareness and
embodied experience of nature. Her sessions are interactive, immersive, fun,
transformative, and deeply healing. By creating a container for people to
remember that they are part of nature, she bridges the gap that has arisen
between people and the natural world, which has led to ecological destruction
and contributes to the illness and mental health crisis in society. Through
forest therapy and forest bathing sessions, she witnessed hundreds of people
finding deep peace and healing through the support of nature. Her work also
addresses the emotional impacts of climate change, manifested through eco-grief
and eco-anxiety, and aims to rewrite the narrative of the Anthropocene by
learning from Indigenous cultures to become a keystone species central to the
    delicate balance of ecosystems.

  • Creating a New Legacy in Teenage Mental Health with: Austin Davis

The mental health of our teenage population is crucial to

the well-being and future of our nation. Today, I'm here to provide a status
report on the state of this mission. According to the Department of Health and
Human Services Office of Population Affairs, while many adolescents experience
positive mental health, an estimated 49.5 percent of adolescents have had a
mental health disorder at some point in their lives. Promoting positive mental
health can prevent some of these problems. Austin Davis is a leader in teenage
behavioral health and addiction treatment, dedicating over 15 years to
transforming the lives of teens and their families. He uses the power of faith
in the recovery process to help his clients become healthy and happy members of
their community. Austin is the founder and CEO of Clearfork Academy, a
prominent treatment center in Texas for troubled teens. His commitment to teen
mental health makes him a leading figure in the industry. He has spoken to
parents, community health professionals, educators, and teens nationwide,
sharing insights on effective treatment methodologies, the importance of mental
health awareness, and the power of faith in the recovery process. Austin earned
a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministry from Lee University in Cleveland,
TN, and furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Counseling from The
Church of God Theological Seminary. This education laid the foundation for his
professional journey in clinical counseling and church ministry. When he's not

  • Ghana's Bloom Bar Elevating Nightlife and Hospitality with: Kofi Maafo

    Let's discuss entrepreneurial change.

This means being open to new ideas, taking calculated risks,

and experimenting with different approaches. Since its founding in 2017, Bloom
Bar has been the preeminent nightlife destination in Ghana’s capital, Accra. It
is renowned across the continent for its signature, down-to-earth ambience,
carefully curated cocktails, expert mixologists, and inimitable vibes. Bloom
Bar was envisioned by lifelong friends and business partners Keith Edem Aweke
and Kofi Adjei Maafo as a way to bring their love of elevated hospitality to
their home. They aimed to create a must-visit open-air bar experience for
Ghanaians and tourists alike. By creating career opportunities in hospitality
and providing unpretentious five-star service for everyone, Bloom Bar has
become a model for new venues, elevating the nightlife and hospitality
industries across West Africa and beyond.

Bloom Bar founders Kofi Adjei Maafo and Keith Edem Aweke

have decades of collective experience in the experiential hospitality space.
Kofi gained his Executive MBA from the University of Ghana in August 2014 and
is currently slated to enroll in Cornell University in 2022 to receive his
Executive Masters in Hospitality Management. A lifelong entrepreneur, he has
prioritized contributing to the business development of Ghana and Africa,
working across industries including agriculture, fitness, and, of course, hospitality
since 2011. Now a cultural phenomenon with a loyal audience and nearly 40,000 followers
across digital platforms, Bloom Bar has inspired the next generation of
Ghanaian entrepreneurs to pursue sectors that may seem like a risk. “This
industry has always existed. But the issue was how people perceived it. Now,
the next generation of bars opening has an understanding that you don’t just
come into this to make drinks - you need to make an impact on the lives of the
people you employ and through the quality of service you provide.”

To date, Bloom Bar has been nominated for three categories

at the GEM Hospitality Awards, taking home “Best Night Life” and “Best Game
Changer.” They are looking to open  new
locations in Labbone, Accra, and Atlanta GA with details to come.

  • NightCap The Drink Spiking Prevention Company with: Shirah Benarde

When you socialize regularly in college, you tend to develop

deep and lasting relationships. Even if some of the connections are
shorter-term, they can support you in different ways. For example, maybe a
college friend in your major is interested in starting a business with you.

According to American Addictions Centers, around 50 percent

of women and men surveyed have had their drinks or food spiked at least once.
This is a major issue facing Americans. It is also not an act that always
involves street drugs being discreetly slipped into a victim’s drink. Most
often, alcohol is used to facilitate the crime of drug-assisted sexual assault.
What also complicates spiking may be a lack of confidence in reporting the
issue or even recognizing the symptoms.

Shirah Benarde is the CEO and Co-Founder at NightCap, an

innovative company addressing drink spiking prevention. NightCap was invented
by Shirah Benarde from West Palm Beach, Florida when she was 16 years old. The
idea came to her in a dream after hearing about the horrors of drink spiking
from friends who experienced it after going off to college. Fortunately, her
friends were okay, but Shirah was determined to come up with a pragmatic
solution to this problem that could protect her and her friends when they went
    off to college.

    Shirah, a 21-year-old Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and

co-founder of NightCap, transformed a personal tragedy into a mission to
safeguard nightlife after a friend fell victim to drink spiking. At just 17,
she appeared on Shark Tank, securing one of the fastest deals in the show's
history. NightCap has since sold over 500,000 units across 40+ countries and
partnered with over 170 major universities.

She also wanted to make sure that the product would be

something that girls would feel comfortable using. The next morning, she went
to her mother’s closet, grabbed a pair of pantyhose, cut them up, and attached
them to a scrunchie to create the first prototype.

  • A Collegiate Football Injury to Lifelong Commitment to Advocating for People with Disabilities

The Cleveland Clinic reports that approximately 1 in 50

Americans, or 5.4 million people, have some form of paralysis.

Ken Kunken broke his neck on October 31, 1970, while making

a tackle during a college football game at Cornell University. The injury
severed his spinal cord, leaving him almost totally paralyzed from the
    shoulders down.

Ken spent more than nine months in various hospitals and

rehabilitation centers undergoing treatment. In 1971, while still a patient at
the Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in New York City, Ken testified before
the United States Senate Health Subcommittee chaired by Senator Edward Kennedy.

Ken returned to Cornell where he completed his Bachelor of

Science degree in Engineering and a Master of Arts degree in Education. He also
earned a Master of Education degree in Psychology from Columbia University.

In 1977, Ken worked as a vocational/rehabilitation counselor

for people with disabilities at Abilities Inc. in Albertson, New York. He
became a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor and made numerous public
presentations on non-discrimination, affirmative action, and employment of the
disabled. Ken was named the Long Island Rehabilitation Association’s
    “Rehabilitant of the Year.”

In 1979, Ken was the subject of one of the Reverend Norman

Vincent Peale’s nationally syndicated radio broadcasts, “The American
    Character.”

Ken earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1982 from Hofstra

University’s School of Law. He went to work as an assistant district attorney
in Nassau County, Long Island, where he eventually became a Deputy Bureau Chief
of the County Court Trial Bureau.

In 1996, Ken received the Honorable Thomas E. Ryan Jr. Award

presented by the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County for
outstanding and dedicated service as an assistant district attorney. In 1999,
Ken was awarded the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award presented
by the Hofstra Alumni Association Inc.

In 2009, Ken became a member of the Board of Directors of

Abilities Inc., and in 2017, he became a member of the Board of Directors for
the parent company of Abilities Inc., the Viscardi Center.

Beginning in 2005, for eight consecutive years, The Ken

Kunken Most Valuable Player Award was presented annually by The Adirondack
Trust Allegiance Bowl in Saratoga Springs, New York, in recognition of Ken’s
personal accomplishments, contributions to society, and extraordinary courage.
In 2020 Ken was inducted into the Susan M. Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of
Fame, as a member of the class of 2019.

  • Exploring Vision, Challenges, & Principles of Success with: Jackson Calame

Being firmly planted in reality means looking at the hard,

scary, and uncertain aspects of life and maintaining a belief that we will
prevail despite challenges. Jackson Calame hosts the Vision Pros, a live
podcast where he interviews Market Leaders to explore their vision, challenges,
and principles of success. He teaches visionary entrepreneurs how to unlock
sustainable revenue growth and expand their legacy by becoming a Power Brand in
their market. Statistics show that 96% of businesses fail within the first 10
years. Jackson's mission is to guide businesses not only in avoiding failure
but in becoming true leaders in their market. He believes that the secret to
success lies in addressing our blind spots.

The problem arises from over-simplified buzz words such as

content marketing, social media, and A.I. as short-term revenue growth
hacks—mere get-rich-quick schemes. Methods like branding, organic SEO, online
ads, email marketing, digital and traditional marketing, funnel hacking, and
automation may not yield long-term success. Simply hiring a "yes man"
    won't change this.

However, embracing the Law of Abundance and the Law of the

Harvest, and focusing on serving others, can work in your favor. Hard work is
essential, and entrepreneurs and business leaders who genuinely care about
their customers understand the value of this approach. Jackson invites those
who want to make a positive impact to consider sustainable revenue growth as
the solution, as hype and tradition continue to lead to business failures.

To achieve true growth, expert guidance is crucial,

requiring a focus on customers' needs and desired results, rather than just the
minimum budget. Shifting from a "catch-up" culture to a proactive
"get ahead" approach demands discipline, but great teams enjoy the
process. Jackson emphasizes the importance of aligning your vision and mission
to reflect in your sales, support, marketing materials, and processes.
