On this episode we'll be discussing "McMillions" the six-part HBO documentary series that details the FBI investigation into the McDonald's Monopoly fraud case.
Between 1989 and 2001 there were no legitimate winners of the grand prizes in the McDonald's Monopoly game promotion. One man set out to steal the instant winner game pieces that paid out up to $1 million dollars each that paid out a total of $24 million dollars. "McMillions" traces the FBIs investigation to find out who the elusive "Uncle Jerry" was and how he was able to pull off this scam for over a decade.
My special guest is Jerri Williams, retired FBI agent, author and podcaster. Jerri spent 26 years with the FBI working major economic fraud investigations. She is the host of the podcast Retired FBI Casefile Review. You can find her podcast, books and other projects and sign up for her reader team at www.jerriwilliams.com.
