At least 100 people were killed late Friday when gunmen stormed Yelewata village in Guma local government area of Benue State, Nigeria, in one of the deadliest attacks recorded in the region this year.
The attack led to unrest where the youth in their numbers protested against the killings. President Bola Tinubu has given his directive but the issue remains what the likelihood and chances of restoring peace could be like in the state.
Also in Plateau State, Mangu and Kanam local governments suffered their own share of attacks.
