Like many trips, our weekend didn't start exactly as planned. A mix-up with our rental car delayed our departure, which meant arriving later than expected. But once we checked in and settled down, the excitement quickly took over.
One of the best parts of hotel takeovers is reconnecting with friends you've met at previous events while also meeting new people throughout the weekend. We spent time exploring the venue, catching up with familiar faces, making new connections, and enjoying the welcoming atmosphere that makes these events so unique.
Saturday brought a completely different energy with poolside conversations, great people, content creation, delicious food, and one of the highlights of the weekend—the room crawl. Of course, there were also a few funny moments, including realizing we needed a break after a few too many celebratory shots.
As the evening continued, we enjoyed dinner, more time in the club, conversations with new friends, and an unexpected fire alarm that temporarily became the biggest event of the night. Sometimes it's the moments you never plan for that become the stories you laugh about long after the weekend is over.
Hotel takeovers aren't about trying to do everything or comparing your experience to anyone else's. They're about connection, communication, and allowing the weekend to unfold naturally.
