I started my memoirs in 2018 with book one, they never saw me, triumphant in my early years. Book two: I don’t know who I am, came the following year 2019. Then we were all hit with the dreaded Covid pandemic. It didn’t sway me I was compelled to do something on mental health. So I turned my two books into a lyrical theatre play and played it out live at the legacy Centre of Excellence on 10.10.2020 world mental health awareness day.

The world for the first time in my lifetime was showing human kindness towards each other and I wanted to encapsulate that never to lose it. Black Lives Matter became an inclusive matter and I found myself being supported more, it felt good to be appreciated especially when my history wasn’t being swept under carpets as before.

So, my third book emerged. Cries from their cells … when walking on Forgiveness Road. I needed to put things in my head to bed once and forevermore. I needed to be whole I had time like everyone else to reflect and prioritise my life. Needs against wants. I want us to strive to be HumanKIND, not HumanBLIND Because humanRACE doesn’t depict white black brown or others.
