Orlando is a prime example of what can be achieved when hard work is coupled with creativity and a love for music. Cited as being one of the Main instigators of the UK street soul movement in the early 90s, his biggest achievement was the singlehanded release of the infamous Wayne Marshall project 90 degrees & rising on his Soultown records, which yielded the soundtrack to summer 1994 “G Spot”. After this period of his life, which also included guiding the rapper Pheobe 1 to the mobo award in 1997( the first UK  female rapper to achieve this),  Orlando in 1999 turned his hand to promotions & organised the largest ever televised concert from the Caribbean as part of the BBC Millenium series. In recent times Orlando has promoted under his company name Musical Therapy the biggest reggae concert to ever take place in Londons Indigo o2."

Recording artiste Young Garvey is shifting gears and appealing even more to his female fan base as gets sensual in his latest single, Slow Whine, produced by Bright Beam Music.

“It is a song for the ladies, it is about a girl dancing seductively and a man appreciating her,” the artiste explained to DancehallMag.

He added,  “The reception has been very good, normally I do Reggae music but I decided to switch it up with this track and the people really love it,” he stated.

Signed by Leroy Sibbles for the past two years, Young Garvey has been making a name for himself in the music industry in several capacities.

Having spent a long period of his life overseas, he started pursuing music professionally when he returned home to Jamaica. His earlier stints were as a producer; his first major riddim release was called “Contagious” and featured acts such as Capleton, Mr G and Harry Toddler. Since then, he has transitioned into the artiste side and now lends his voice to his own tracks.

“My style is unpredictable; my music is dependent on how the riddim makes me feel. It’s really a combination of many different styles – Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae – you could say that I am genre-fluid,” the artiste expressed. He is known for previous tracks such as Cool Natty, One More Sad Song, Money Where You Gone, Work Hard, and the highly successful In These Times which has been doing exceptionally well on YouTube.

I'm a mum of 3 ( Antony, Sarah, Ryan) my youngest has additional medical needs, he's a type one diabetic. I'm a special needs and mental health advocate, with my own blog The M.I.N.D. Gardener and podcast M.I.N.D. Yourself with Natalie. I'm a firm believer in a healthy mind = a healthy body, I am normally a pescatarian but am trying out a vegan diet for the month of January to see if it makes any difference to my health.

Possessing a silky yet grainy, versatile voice, singer Delroy Melody has been playing his trade for 50 years. Born Lassive Jones, he began his career in late 60s trio The Schoolboys, with Lawrence Weir (brother of the Jamaicans’ Norris Weir) and one Jacob Miller (who would lead Inner Circle).

Not to be confused with Prince Buster’s namesake child ensemble, The Schoolboys recorded the fast-reggae sides Guilty Of Love and Oh Tell Me for producer Bunny Lee. Guilty Of Love would be refashioned by Miller as Love Is A Message at Coxsone Dodd’s Studio 1 and Keep on Knocking for Augustus Pablo.

In the 1970s, Delroy Melody went solo, cutting debut Tears for Bob Mac’s Abeng label. Six years later he voiced roots anthem Dread Must Be Fed for Dickie Wong’s Tit For Tat Records (written by his friend, drummer Sly Dunbar, in response to Haile Selassie’s passing). The song got a makeover for soundman Emperor Marcus, crowning his 1979 collector’s LP of the same name.

Like his close comrade, Jamaicans member, Errol “I Kong”, Mr Melody experienced the vicissitudes of the Jamaican record business. The Dread Must Be Fed album was released abroad without Delroy seeing any royalties, while Marcus served jail-time for herb. The following year, Ease Up The Pressure - a remake of Dennis Brown’s Easy Take It Easy for Ruddy Williams - was repurposed in 1980’s infamous election and banned by the radio.

Again like I Kong, Delroy retired to the St Elizabeth countryside during the slackness era, where he and his wife have been happily self-releasing via their Level Head Music label. Lately, he has branched out to European imprints: reissuing Ease Up The Pressure and Dread Must Be Fed on France’s Jamwax Records; and updating 1986 Harry J hit Buss Shot for Glasgow’s Scotch Bonnet Records’ Puffer’s Choice compilation.

Many artists grow their talent as young adults. Jubba White entered the world banging on kitchen pots and exercising his dynamic lungs at three years old. Born in the rural area of May Pen, Clarendon (Jamaica), Jubba learned to sing and play the drums in church, where his mother was a foundation member and sang in the choir.

During high school, Jubba and his childhood friend, Rohan “Maka Lox” Gordon (guitar), joined forces with Phillip ‘Winta’ James (keys) and Veron “Koxx” Dinnall (bassie) to form a powerhouse quartet. These four talented young men quickly made an impact on the local scene. Jubba was first to enrol in the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (Kingston), and began studies in the Caribbean, Latin American, and Jazz music. Soon the entire band enrolled. In 1997, the band was approached to take further their career under the name Ruption Kru. This opportunity resulted in numerous tours across Europe, supporting reggae icons such as the Mighty Diamonds, The Heptones, Big Youth, and more. That same year, they performed on their first professional studio album by The Ethiopians (Tuff Gong Studios), entitled ‘Tougher than Stone.’ More tours were added.

In 1998, Jubba and some bandmates became the personal support band for Bushman, and in 1999, for Junior Kelly. Both were premier rising stars at the time. Jubba and band played an instrumental role in some of their recordings, and live shows for both artists.
