Welcome to the Let´s Talk About Sickle Cell podcast.
Jenica Leah will be hosting this series and in parts you will hear the voice of Michael Soyannwo, who is sadly no longer with us.
When we began recording this series, both hosts who have Sickle Cell, were on a mission to uncover some of the stories of those who also suffer, but also speak to the leaders, MP´s and change makers who are fighting for and supporting the cause.
Which brings us to our first guest, Pat McFadden, who was recently referred to as "the most powerful labour politician most people have never heard of" and he is a part of the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia All Party Parliamentary Group.
He was chair of the group when we conducted this interview about the 'No One's Listening Report', following the un-necessary death of Evan Nathan Smith.
We explore the report in todays episode and look at the improvements we hope to see in sickle cell care as a result.
