Ushering in the start of spooky season seems easy enough for a couple of trolls such as ourselves to do, considering we found that at quite an early age immersing our own identities within influences such as Edward Gorey and Joel Peter Witkin would form the folks you hear before you. This episode features two genuinely individual men, true and authentic to themselves and the mediums they have devoted to - while facing some of the most extreme criticism and losses along the way. Gorey's pen and ink illustrations have influenced a generation of gothic subculture and defined a genre of literary nonsense, while Witkin has faced a lifetime of personal anguish and loss in pursuit of sharing his photographs of what some would call the rejects of society as beautiful, and timeless works of art.
