Dear Listeners,

March is National Nutrition Month and today we're going to kick it of with a focus on breast feeding. It is an annual campaign designed for people to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating  habits (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2026). This years theme is Discover the Power of Nutrition (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2026). The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics emphasizes that "Nutrition has the power to help individuals and communities thrive". What better way to start the conversation than where it all begins after a person is born. Often times we talk about what we eat and the impart it can have on our health as youth and adults,  but we must remember that nutrition starts with what mom eats during pregnancy and continues with what baby is fed once born. This is why one must consider the power of nutrition when it comes to breast feeding as well.
