Welcome to Season 2 of Let’s Talk Dreams! In episode 4 I am excited to welcome Alyssa! She is a dynamic and versatile professional known for her grant coordination, writing, and arts education expertise. With a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and a Master's in Urban Studies, Alyssa has over a decade of experience working with childcare centers and camps, where she has honed her skills in curriculum development, program management, and community engagement.

Alyssa is currently the Grant Coordinator for Belmont University, where she excels in securing funding to support vital programs. Her keen ability to craft compelling narratives has made her a sought-after writer for grants, resumes, cover letters, and educational materials. Her passion for education extends to her role as a facilitator for adult writing classes, where she inspires others to harness their writing potential.

In addition to her grant work, Alyssa is deeply involved in the arts community. She is developing a theologically sound arts-based curriculum for Gen Z and Alphas and contributes to various creative projects, including arts festivals. Her work with the Creative Arts Collective and other initiatives reflects her commitment to using the arts as a transformative tool for personal and community growth.

Alyssa is also a devoted mother, drawing inspiration from her personal experiences to connect with others. Her leadership, creativity, and dedication to making a positive impact are evident in all aspects of her work.

Today, for episode 3 of season 2 we are so excited to welcome Reese! Reese is the current  Miss Hub City Volunteer. She will be competing in the Miss Tennessee Volunteer pageant in July. She created the organization called DEAFying The Odds. It is centered around service and awareness for the deaf and hard of hearing community in our state. Alongside this, she advocates for all people with disabilities and executes any service opportunities in her community!

For my social science project, I decided to explore the rise of homelessness in Nashville. I interviewed Steven Young, Daniel Craig, and Trayce Tucker to talk about their personal experiences with helping the homeless in the community. 

World Meet Robbie!  

Robbie J. Atkinson, is a Film Director, Editor, and CEO of RPX Media Production as well as the founder of the Foundation for Inter-Ethnic Restoration [aka FIER; pronounced "fire.] After obtaining her M.A. in Digital Production from Georgia State University (2018), she founded FIER in 2020 amidst the countless protests against police brutality and rampant xenophobia stemming from the COVID 19 pandemic. From there, she assembled a diverse team of volunteers and researchers from countries like Nigeria, China, Bangladesh, Turkey and Dubai to help FIER reach its community and achieve its mission. FIER's general mission is to bring ethnic communities together, address racial trauma through education about racial literacy, foster community engagement and host open/inclusive discussion.

"I am currently going back to school for Elementary Education. My goal is to be the teacher I needed in school as well as utilize the knowledge I learned from my favorite instructors. I do my best to be involved in activism in my community as well as using my tiktok account to spread information across the world. I am currently working on raising money and collecting supplies to build winter bags for the homeless in my area. I am currently a volunteer member of Gen-z For Change and have been since its launch in 2019; I have also just started volunteering with NARAL and my aim is to continue to help make change in our country."

Gabi's Goodies for Good is run by a high school girl who bakes and sells treats in order to raise money for charities that speak to her heart. In 2017, she raised $1000, 2018 $1640, 2019 $2000, 2020, $2,211, 2021, $3,289.21!

I am a sophomore at UT Austin, double majoring in Business Honors and Marketing, minoring in Business Analytics, and with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I started a job at Sorenson Impact Investing Firm in which I work as an analyst running due diligence on impact companies, mostly in Latin America. The mission is to delegate funds and social capital to ventures that have direct impact on communities that are underrepresented and underfunded. I now work for Capital Factory as a Ventures Fellow.

I am also currently employed with an organization called Humanity Rising in which I head Marketing and Outreach. Within the organization, I initiated a podcast series, What Cause Inspires You that features student service stories from around the globe, social entrepreneurship professionals, and delegate scholarships. We recently won a 30K national Innovation Grant! I was flown out to Chicago this past weekend and was interviewed by NBC! The purpose of the podcast is to allow students a voice for their social justice movements and I am always looking to connect with organizations that align with our mission.
