  • The Struggle Bus: Faith, Grit & an 8-Hour Adventure Race

Join me for Part 2 of Laurie’s incredible adventure race journey as she shares what it was really like to take on an 8-hour race in Maine with her son, Sam.

Laurie opens up about her training, the complications she faced with her shoulder and ankle in the middle of her training, and just how physically and emotionally difficult race day became. She shares the moments when she wanted to quit—but chose to keep going—and how she found herself jumping on the “struggle bus” alongside others who were fighting their own battles on the course.

But this story is about more than endurance. Laurie talks about God’s answer to her prayer, "Please don't let me fall off my bike," and the remarkable, inexplicable way God showed up throughout the journey.

There’s laughter, tears, struggle, faith, determination, and a whole lot of heart in this episode. Join us for this inspiring conclusion to Laurie’s adventure race story and hear what happened when she decided not to give up.

It is good to remember that we live in our Father's world, and when we feel helpless as parents, we can go to God, our Father, and surrender all to Him.

  • It is Good to Remember

Over centuries in the Middle East, settlements were built upon each other making a hill. These hills are called Tels, and it reminded me of the layers of my own life, the sorrows that I suffered and healed from but haven't forgotten. It is good to remember where we have come from to pray for and help those that come from similar situations.
