Liverpool are finally back in action after three agonising months. It's a merseyside derby which always leads to great games, sometimes :P. I analyse the important role Keita played and how Klopp can get the most out of Minamino

After a couple of poor results, it was up to the players to put in a big performance to take us one step closer to winning the league and get the momentum back in the team. I discuss the controversial push on Joe Gomez and how Fabinho could help the team create more chances.

Our first game back from the winter break was a tough game against a Norwich side fighting for their Premier League status. We were lethargic at times and failed to create many clear cut chances, but it was the returning Sadio Mane who netted the winner.  

Liverpool took on Southampton at Anfield, the game finished 4-0 thanks to a second half masterclass from Jurgen Klopp's reds. Goals from Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson and Salah in the second half gave us a handsome victory and put us 22 points clear at the top of the table.

Liverpool took on Wolves at Molineux on the 23rd January. In what was arguably our hardest game of the season, we came away from Molineux with 3 points, making it 40 league matches unbeaten. Scoring was opened in the first half with a Henderson header from a corner, however Jimenez equalised in the second half, but Firmino got the winning goal with a left footed strike with 5 mins to go.

Liverpool took on Manchester United at Anfield on the 19th January. A famous northwest rivalry, but there was only going to be one winner. The scoring was opened from a corner with Van Dijk heading the ball past De Gea. We had two goals disallowed, one for a foul and one for offside, but int he second half we really asserted our dominance. The game was wrapped up at the end of the second half when Salah scored on the break. The lead extends to 16 points and 30 ahead of Manchester United.

Liverpool took on Tottenham at White Hart Lane on the 11th January. It was a game that we dominated in the first half, creating a number of chances, but it was Bobby Firmino who gave us the lead with a fine left footed finish. The second half was a little rocky as we became our own worst enemy giving the ball away, but we saw through the victory making it the greatest start to a premier league campaign in history!

Liverpool took on Sheffield United at Anfield on the 2nd January. In a game where we broke the record for the most passes in a premier league game, it was goals from Salah and Mane that won us the game. Truth be told, Sheffield united struggled when they went behind early and from then it was our game and we controlled it at our pace.

Liverpool took on Wolves at Anfield on the 29th December. In the busy festive schedule this was a game where you could tell players needed a rest. We won thanks to a goal from Mane that was overturned by VAR for a handball by Lallana.
