Trains Magazine columnist Don Phillips will be Bob and Elizabeth's guest on Saturday's show. He has covered transportaion for many years including the formation of Amtrak and Conrail and deregulation. Mr Phillips has covered every major train wreck and airline crash since 1989. In addition he has written about international transportation issues for the International Herald Tribune. Mr. Phillips retired from daily reporting in 2006 but still writes several magazine columns including Trains Magazine, where he has written a transportation column for the last 35 years

This week, Nathan of Kansas City will be hosting this Saturday’s Let’s Talk Trains Show. This week will be an Open Forum. There are a number of rail excursions/chases in the Midwest that are taking place this weekend, including a special excursion for U.P. 844 to celebrate its' 50th Anniversary in Nebraska & Iowa Interstate QJ 2-10-2 will be partaking in some of the U.P. 844's festivities. Chris will talk about when thery met and they will recall the first trip he took on the Indaho, Pacific & Northern and then all the ones to the present. Also, we will be test-driving a new communications system for remotes at special occasions.
