I recently did a final project on teacher burnout for one of my graduate classes, and it inspired me to cover the topic on burnout on this podcast. Different factors because of your career can lead to burnout, but things in your everyday life can also lead to burnout. Before going into burnout, I feel like it is important to understand the difference between stress and burnout. In simple terms stress involves too many pressures and the person can still feel that they have everything under control and that they’ll feel better. On the other hand, burnout is about not enough, feeling empty, and do not see positive change in their situation.
In this episode, I will go in depth about the difference between stress and burnout, different factors that affect and cause burnout, and signs and symptoms. Lastly, I will go over some ways to cope with and combat burnout. These are some info that I presented in my own project about teacher burnout and some additional research that I have done about burnout in general.
*** I am by no means a professional in this field. These are just some information that I have gathers related to burnout to give that that need a little more knowledge about it and to further my own education on this topic. If you need professional help please reach out to a professional in the field.
