  • For The Person With A Complicated Relationship With Their Dad | Ep. 10

With Father's Day around the corner... we want to specifically dedicate this (very vulnerable) episode to those of you who have a complicated relationship with your dad.

In many cultures especially (such as ours as Asian Americans), it’s normal to feel unsure and ill-equipped to navigate the confusing and complex “love-hate” tensions we often feel with our parents... especially our dads. (Ever wonder why the term “daddy issues” exists?)

But it makes it that much harder, too, when your social media feed gets flooded with "I love you, Dad!" posts on Father's Day.

So join us today, as we share openly and candidly about:

    • The biblical importance of a father’s role
    • How our personal relationships with our dads have shaped us (both negatively and positively) and our relationships with God
    • Our deep-rooted father wounds, including the struggles we have even to this day
    • What has practically helped us find healing, hope, and restoration in the midst of all of it

So, if you have a complicated relationship with your dad...

    This one’s for you.

We hope that this very REAL and raw conversation brings you comfort - so you know that you are not alone.

We pray that this encourages and helps you to be able to better see your dad through Jesus’ eyes - and to love your dad with Jesus’ love for each and every one of us. ❤️

  • "I Was In A Same-Sex Relationship for 10 Years" (LGBTQIA+ & Faith) - Nadia Benbernou, Full-Time Missionary & Former Google Engineer | Ep. 9

How do we navigate Pride Month as Christians?

We all come from varying experiences, views, & emotions when it comes to the topic of sexual orientation.

You might feel like the odd one out in your workplace, unsure of what to do in cultures that celebrate Pride.

Or, you might feel like the odd one out in church circles, upset about Christians who seem bigoted or hateful.

Or, you might identify as LGBTQIA+ yourself, but have been hurt by the Church's responses - or are afraid of being "found out."

With so much complexity around this, we recognize it's a sensitive topic that's hard to talk about, let alone know how to approach in our everyday lives.

Today, Grace is joined by her friend Nadia Benbernou, as Nadia opens up about some incredible stories of how Jesus has transformed her life...

From a comfy career as a Google engineer with a PhD from MIT, to becoming a full-time missionary in one of the poorest & most dangerous countries in the world...

And from being in a same-sex relationship for 10 years (& then marriage), to having God completely transform her identity & sexuality in ways she least unexpected.

Wherever you might currently stand, our genuine hope & prayer is that this convo inspires you - and perhaps challenges you - to consider what God can do in & through people... and to have & to reflect the kind of true freedom, peace, & wholeness he so deeply desires for ALL of us. ❤️

In today’s episode, we sit down with David Kim, Discipleship and Formation Pastor at WestGate Church in San Jose and author of Made to Belong: Five Practices for Cultivating Community in A Disconnected World.

It’s often unspoken, but we all crave life-giving relationships and community. Yet they seem to be increasingly hard to find.

How to actually find friends who can come alongside you in love, to help fight for your highest good.

In a world that settles for shallow relationships, we hope this episode helps you find the authentic, rich, meaningful connection and belonging with others who help you grow and thrive the way God made you to!

  • Why Your Job Description Isn't Your REAL Job Description (& HOW to Live Out Your Real One) | Ep. 2

Do you ever question the bigger purpose behind your work?

Whether you're an employee, an entrepreneur, a small business owner, a stay-at-home parent, or on the job hunt... we all have moments when we struggle to see our work as truly meaningful.

Maybe you feel like your job is just a boring list of tasks to complete.

Maybe you feel stressed and overwhelmed by your work and are dreading going to work each day.

Maybe you find yourself constantly searching for better opportunities out there.

Whether you're an engineer, a designer, a parent, a doctor, a teacher, a CEO, a church leader, or anything in between, God has intentionally placed us in our respective areas of work for HIS purposes!

Join us for this conversation as we unpack:
    - How can we view our work through God's lens?
    - Common misconceptions of what a "successful" career looks like
    - What your true job description really is
    - 3 Key Practices to help you live out God's purposes through your work
    - Questions to help you hear what God's saying to you about how he wants you to be on mission for him
    - A practical exercise for you to apply this week

No matter where you are in your journey, we hope this episode can give you practical tools to better see your work as directly connected with how God wants to bring heaven onto earth through you - in the position and place he's uniquely placed you (or is calling you to!).
