Let's Write About: A Children's Poetry Show

Donnie recites an original poem "The Feast"

"The Feast"  

If we met as strangers well, 

I might get a hunch

 that soon we’d be hungry 

and have to go to lunch.  

And once we did it’d be so clear 

that we’re in no real rush, 

so perhaps we’d get dessert—

apple pie with flaky crust.

Then you and I with bellies full

and crumbs still in our laps

might find ourselves quite ready

for a delicious little nap.  

And when we wake to say goodbye

 it’d be quite bittersweet. 

Yes, it’s fine to dine alone, 

but friendship is a feast.

Welcome to Let’s Write About

A show where we sing some songs, make some art and write a poem or two about how we’re feeling.

You can keep listening here and you can also find the show on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram TV

All you need is your imagination, a piece of paper, and something to write with… though I also like to wear my hat, my poet beanie, to make sure none of my ideas get out.

It can feel so nice sharing your writing and art with other people

An inclusive children's show exploring social-emotional themes through poetry, creative writing, and song.   This episode is all about daydreaming on a rainy day and how to spend time when you're feeling bored. We'll use our imagination and visit my friend Queen Cumulonimbus up in the cloud kingdom, she needs our help with her rainbow garden!
