In this episode, I talk with my friend/figurative older sister, Danielle White, who is currently a material science and engineering Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California. In this episode, the future Dr. D. White will talk about why she is aiming to get her doctorate, the academic/work-life of a Ph.D., and how she still maintains a full and enriching life outside of her educational pursuit. After hearing this you may be inspired to get your Ph.D.
In this episode, I am meeting with my friend Porter Crumpton who has always been fascinated by urban planning. From a young age, he has made plans to re-invigorated cities' rail systems and re-organized the bus routes. Currently, he is working on this now in Philly but plans to take his talents across the country. Come here Porter’s story and where he is going next.
In this episode, I will be joined by my friend Juwan Busby, otherwise known as DJ Uncle Fresh. Juwan is an engineering graduate and is now employed as a commodity buyer during the day. However, during his non-office time, he is building his own live entertainment company. Come hear how he grows his brand and balances employee and entrepreneurship. In this episode, I wanted to switch gears from hardcore engineering and hold a dialogue with someone in a more creative profession. This week, I will be introducing you to my friend Arlette Hawkins. Arlette is now a TV producer for WFMY News 2 in Greensboro, NC. Also, she currently writes for cosmopolitan as a freelance contributor. Come hear her share the way she “made it in media!”
In this episode, I will be introducing you to my friend David Swain. David is a biomedical engineer at Edwards Lifesciences who designs implantable heart valves and holds a patent. Mr. Swain has worked in multiple countries, been featured on the cover of a magazine, and still goes out to party with some of the country's top DJs. David does not allow himself to be put in a box and believes you create your own experience. Come listen and be inspired.
In this episode, I will be introducing you to my friend Kara Bradley. Kara is now a manufacturing engineer at Boeing. Kara may be in her field of choice now, but she couldn’t find an entrance into the industry. She may have started at a disadvantage, but she created an opportunity for herself through persistence. Come listen to her story about carving a path toward the future you want.
In this episode, I will be introducing you to my friend Kinnidy Coley. Kinnidy is currently a veterinary medicine student at North Carolina State University. Kinnidy, despite being raised as a city girl, always had a passion for animals. For the last few years, Kinnidy has been working on the farm. She has done everything from de-horning cattle to cleaning chicken coops. Come listen to her share her passion for veterinary medicine and animal welfare. I hope you gain some knowledge about the field and she inspires some future vets.
