Leverage Your Motivation Style

Listen Later

Have you been accepting the premise that success is only about meeting expectations, validation and obligations? If you want a career in different areas, listen to this episode to learn what's really behind success: motivation.

  1. There are two types of motivation. Intrinsic motivation is all about the love of doing something while extrinsic is about earning a reward or avoiding a punishment.
  • Our culture is set up on an extrinsic system, trapping many people into a life where they are disconnected from their passions because they are too afraid of what they can lose if they don;t do what's expected.
  • We need both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to be successful on our own terms.
  • Learning your dominant motivation style and how to bring in your less dominant one when needed let's you live a balance life.
