「'If one of your brethren becomes poor,

　and has sold some of his possession,

　and if his redeeming relative comes to redeem it,

　then he may redeem what his brother sold.」　 Amen.

The Jewish view was that the land belonged to God, and humans were mere custodians. Therefore, from the perspective of social equity, the management of land according to God's will, and the creation of a social safety net, a system of buy-backs was established. Lutz was able to marry Boaz through the system of buy-back. We who were under the dominion of sin were also bought back and transferred to the dominion of God through the blood of Jesus.
