JESUS’ MISSION WAS TO MAKE DISCIPLES BY SACRIFICIALLY SUBSTITUTING HIMSELF ON THE CROSS TO BECOME THEIR ALL-SUFFICIENT, ALL-SATISFYING, TREASURE

Biblical Christianity Description: Legalism, Moralism and Christianism are three of the most deceptive "isms" in the Church today. The Scriptures identify, and condemn their deception in the light of authentic Biblical Christianity.

Psalm 14:1 tells us "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."" Dont' be a "practical athiest" and live as if Gode does not exist. Unsaved sinner: run to Jesus turn away from your sinful life and embrace the salvation that comes only from Him. Christian: Look at Christ, Live for Him, live more like Christ.

The surest defense we have against temptation is the power of God's word.

Highly Exalted

In our previous sermon we learned that we were to be faithful like a farmer, soldier, and athlete. This week we are told how to train our mind for that kind of service.

The apostle Paul gives Timothy three good examples on how to live the Christian life. The good soldier who aims to please the one who enlisted him. The athlete who wins the crown by competing according to the rules. The hard working farmer who is consistently faithful in the daily details of life.

Jesus adressing his disciples how to not fear laying down everything and leaving all wordly pleasures to seek the kingdom of God.

Jonathan and David display what godly friendship is supposed to look like. The only better picture of friendship in the Bible is seen in Jesus Christ, the friend who sticks closer than a brother.

El Shadai means God Almighty. This is one of God's ways to describe Himself. The promises that God makes to protect and preserve His people depends upon His omnipotent, divine power.
