There is an evil one actively seeking to hinder gospel ministry. We cannot be ignorant of these machinations. We will be tempted to be moved away from Jesus Christ and the church by means of various afflictions which will always be present. God uses the same afflictions for our sanctification and to draw us closer to him and the body of Christ. Disciples of Jesus must work to establish and exhort one another in the faith.

The Bible warns about all types of sexual sins and specifies that sex should be between a Man and Woman after marriage.

Follow Jesus first over everything else

The current culture honors self over God. God must be our first focus and life.

Significance: My Life - Our Culture demands that we create ourselves, what we want to be, and how we want to live. There are too many options to pick to us and we cannot do this correctly without following the Lords Plan and focusing on Him.

How do you respond to the Word of God? Do you respond like Samuel, who heard and obeyed? Or do you respond to the Word like Eli, who heard and was unchanged?

In this sermon we consider the parenthood and priesthood of Eli. Most importantly, we see how Jesus is the faithful high priest that was prophesied to come and be the answer to all of Eli's failures.

Hannah exults and exalts through prayer

What do you do with the good gifts that the Lord gives to you? If you believe that your things belong to you, you will fight hard to keep them. If you believe that your things belong to the Lord, you will do all that you can to honor Him with them.

Joy does not come from getting what you wnat. Joy comes from getting God.
